Now that you have an idea of all 12 Sects or Factions in Where Winds Meet, it’s time to make up your mind on which one you should join.
Which Sect Should You Join in Where Winds Meet?

You should decide on which sect to join once you have chosen your preferred weapon and playstyle in the game. Early on, I would recommend that you remain Sectless and focus on experimenting with the variety of weapons, combos, and other combat mechanics. If you’re Sectless, you have the freedom to choose which quests you need to undertake, since you’re not bound to the rules of a specific Sect.
Once you start getting comfortable with a weapon and a playstyle, it would then be time to decide on the Sect. So, if you tend to use healing a lot, then an easy one to recommend will be the Silver Needle sect. If attacking enemies in melee range with a spear is what you find yourself doing a lot, then the Raging Tides sect is the one to go for.
The next consideration should be how you are planning to interact with the multiplayer aspect of the open world. If you have advanced sufficiently in the game and feel like engaging in a lot of PVP, then the Midnight Blades is something you should give a look at.
How To Join A Sect in Where Winds Meet

To join a Sect in Where Winds Meet, locate the Sect Elder via Entry Clues, then meet the minimum requirements and pass the Elder’s trials. If your playstyle already aligns with the Sect’s values, ethics, and rules, then you can directly join the Sect. For example, to join the Silver Needle Sect, you need to visit Dr. (Sun) Yuan, who is located near Sage’s Refuge, and pass the required Admission Test.
Similarly, to join the Lone Cloud Sect, you need to pass a Math Test or a Logic Test, since it is a Sect filled with scholars who encourage solving puzzles, using intellect, and engaging in mental exercises. So, if a specific Sect from the above-mentioned ones is to your liking, start building your playstyle according to their rules and values. Suppose you want to join the Silver Needle Sect. To do so, you need to participate in multiplayer healing and treat diseases and injuries for NPCs around the world.
How To Leave A Sect in Where Winds Meet?
To leave a Sect, head to the “Sect” menu and hold the “Leave” button prompt located at the bottom. Then, you must complete a quest to get the permission of the Sect Elder for your leave approval. For example, to leave Nine Mortal Ways, you must offer 50,000 Zhou Coins to the Sect Elder to acquire the leave approval. You can exit a Sect whenever you want and can rejoin as well, although there is a 24-hour in-game cooldown period in between.
You can only participate in one Sect at a time, but if you use your Skill Theft skills, you can learn a Sect’s private Martial Art without having to join in Where Winds Meet, thus remaining Sectless. However, leaving a Sect has consequences since you will be hunted down by the remaining members for leaving, so you must watch your back.
