Each weapon offers unique characteristics, and this guide will break them down for you below.
All Weapons in Where Winds Meet Explained
Once you start obtaining rare weapons, either through quests or exploration, you might wonder whether these weapons are the right fit for you. We will break down how each weapon works below.
Nameless Sword

The Nameless Sword offers light and heavy attacks; the light attacks deal four hits, while the heavy attacks deal three. There is also a difference in recovery time, with the heavy attack requiring 3 seconds longer recovery time than light attacks with the sword. Charging up the Heavy Attack will unleash a charged wave that will hit multiple enemies in its path.
Use this attack in conjunction with the Fearless Lunge martial arts skill to toss your sword and deal a light attack, then quickly dash towards it. You will also get a shield at the end of your combo that lasts 3 seconds. Unlocking the Sword Morph buff will work when your shield is active and you have charged up your heavy attack. This will unleash several projectiles to tear the enemy down. Shadow Step is another special skill that works with the sword, which makes your character dodge backwards and unleash Sword Qi.
Nameless Spear

The spear also deals light and heavy attacks. You get four swings with the light attack and three with the heavy attack. Both offer the same recovery time, just 0.2s. The heavy charge attack called Storm Dance unleashes a flurry of slashes that also makes you immune to projectiles. The martial arts skill for the spear is called Qiankun’s Lock, which immobilizes the target after it is hit. This move also restores Endurance and reduces Endurance consumption.
The Legion Crusher’s special skill thrusts the spear forward with crushing force and deals extremely high damage. Couple this with the Storm Dance, since they both support the Unrivaled state and release the storm spin much quicker. To use the spear, start with Qiankun’s Lock, followed by Legion Crusher, then go with Storm Dance.
Strategic Sword

The Strategic Sword is a great pick for AoE and DOT. The light attacks provide four light attacks with a 0.6s cooldown. Heavy attacks, on the other hand, apply three heavy attacks and have a 0.9s cooldown. The heavy charge attack offers the Second Track Slash charged skill, which applies bleed damage and also gives you immunity temporarily. The Inner Track Slash martial arts skill also applies bleed damage and subsequent light slash attacks on enemies.
Inner Balance Strike III will be your special skill, which deals high damage on enemies having 5 stacks of bleed. But this will remove all bleed stacks, so you have to start over. In essence, this will be a high DOT build that also offers a high burst of damage due to the special skill. Follow these up with a charge attack to deal bleed damage stacks.
Heavenquaker Spear

Both light and heavy attacks offer a 0.2s cooldown rate, and the light attacks offer four light attacks while the heavy attack offers 3. The Drifting Thrust charge skill consumes Endurance to charge up, but deals multiple hits and provides Fortitude. The Sober Sorrow martial arts skill grants buffs based on the number of combo hits.
If you get fewer than 5 hits, you get the Droplet buff. Higher than 5 grants Spring Surge, while higher than 10 gives River Flow. These buffs will significantly increase your HP damage, granting 10%, 15%, and 20% respectively. Sweep All will be the special skill here, and this skill gets enhanced if you have the Drip Tenon, Surge Spring, or River Flow buffs. This also stacks bleed on enemies hit.
Thundercry Blade/ Mo Blade

The Thundercry or Mo Blade is a great pick for intense stagger damage, high survivability, and high single-hit damage. The only drawback is low mobility. Besides that, whether you use light or heavy attacks, both of them will be slow and hard-hitting. Light attacks offer 3 strikes while heavy attacks offer 2 strikes. When charged up, the light attack provides AoE, but offers damage to a lower degree. Heavy-charged attacks focus on singular targets and deal more damage, but also come with the risk of missing the target.
The unique feature of this weapon is that, while charging, you get to move around and reposition yourself. The Predator’s Shield martial arts skill grants a shield and increases Fighting Spirit by 2 bars. The Sunrush Gale special skill works with the Predator’s Shield by consuming the two Fighting Spirit bars. This creates a vortex with the blade, trapping enemies within it and dealing sweeping damage and granting Focus and Fortitude. Follow this move with a charged attack, whether light or heavy, to continue dealing damage.
Stormbreaker Spear

The Stormbreaker is a faster version of the Heavenquaker and will supply the Drumbeat buff as well. This increases damage up to 15%, great for crowd control. When used in conjunction with the Mo Blade’s shield, the Qi on the shield gets empowered further by the Drumbeat buff. Plus, your skill damage is increased to 30% instead of 15%. The Storm Roar martial arts skill acts as a taunt mechanic that provides a debuff.
Enemies hit with this deal 20% less damage, plus you gain immunity. The Thunder Shock special skill consumes Fighting Spirit to slam down on targets and apply Vulnerability, while also providing you with Fortitude. To best use these skills, start with a heavy attack and get the Drumbeat buff with the Stormbreaker Spear, then quickly switch to the Mo Blade and use the Sunrush Gale ability. Continue dealing light or heavy charged attacks to finalize the battle.
Panacea Fan

Your first support weapon that isn’t used for fighting, but rather, for survivability. The Panacea Fan is a healing equipment and is used as a defensive gear. Use it as an off-hand weapon to increase survivability, especially when in a group. The Panacea Fan’s light attack performs four ranged light attacks, and is the only attack it has. Following this, this weapon provides the Emerald Dewtouch healing skill, which provides healing to you or your ally. It targets the player with the lowest health and works on healing them first.
The Cloudburst Healing martial arts skill generates 20 points of Dewdrops when active. This summons a water spirit at a target location to heal allies. The Light Dust After Morning Rain special skill releases a stream of water that heals you and an ally with the lowest HP. You could also select a particular ally to heal, and the healing capabilities will be focused on them till the effect is over.
Soulshade Umbrella

Another equipment that isn’t great for attacking, but useful in providing several damage buffs. The light attack deals three light attacks, which offer close to medium range. The final light attack hit will often interrupt the target, helping you deal consecutive damage. The heavy attack spins the umbrella around, and the Pale Petal charged heavy attack increases damage and duration of the spin attack if held down.
The Floating Grace martial arts skill grants 15% increased damage buff to you and your allies while also healing once. The Echoes of a Thousand Plants special skill reveals a hidden sword at the hilt of the umbrella. You could use this sword, or switch to another weapon. When using this sword, it will hover around you and heal yourself and your allies, depending on who has the lowest HP.
Infernal Twin Blades

The light attacks of the Infernal Twin Blades help you build up your Blazing Wrath, also called Karmic Flame. Once full, use the Blazing Wrath in conjunction with heavy attacks to increase damage and also supply life steal. This also increases movement speed as well as increases CRIT chance and CRIT damage. Your posture damage also increases, which increases your spin damage while using the sword. Dodging during this state will resume combos if you had stopped midway, while parrying will cancel the entire combo.
The Addled Mind martial arts skill increases mobility to get closer to your target while performing your spin attack. This helps interrupt enemies, including bosses. Calamity’s Greed special skill is used in crowd control that deals damage to multiple enemies.
Mortal Rope Dart

Using the Mortal Rope Dart’s light attack and following that up with the charged Coiled Dragon attack will knock down enemies hit. While it doesn’t deal a lot of damage, when combined with the heavy attack, you get to draw targets towards you and deal a lot of spin damage. The Bladebound Thread martial arts skill will pull in the target and hit them against the ground.
This also supplies a debuff, which provides increased damage when using your Rodent Rampage special attack. This special attack summons a rat to fight alongside you, provided you use a light attack from any weapon. If you have this skill active, you could switch to the Infernal Twin Blades to perform better light attacks and use the special attack skill.
Inkwell Fan

The Inkwell Fan’s light attack offers four blows, but charging it up will utilize the Forsaken Fame, which releases a vortex that launches enemies up in the air. You can launch yourself upwards after that and follow up with heavy attacks. Any target that gets launched in the air will be auto-tracked, no matter where you are in the field. The Jadewind Shield martial arts skill creates a shield that blocks all incoming attacks.
You also get to dodge backwards to avoid attacks, which also gives you double stacks of Enhanced Trajectory. The Peaks Springless Silence special skill dashes your character forward, which applies the Root debuff on characters hit. Humanoid enemies, when hit, get launched instead. Non-player enemies receive the Lingering Bone mark, which grants you the Riding the Wind effect.
Vernal Umbrella

Your light attacks can be charged up to launch your character into the air and also help them float around. You also get to unleash several daggers at the target from high above. You also accumulate Blossom this way. The charged heavy attack, called Apricot Heaven, lets you float up in the air and deal two variants of downward attacks: either an enhanced attack or a normal attack. You get to use varied combo attacks with this weapon, which gives you unique fighting skills.
The Spring Sorrow martial arts skill immobilizes non-boss enemies by charging up and firing a flying petal. The Unfading Flower special skill requires 50 Blossoms to take full effect. This works similarly to the special skill of the Soulshade Umbrella, which supplies a hidden sword. But, instead of healing like the Soulshade, the Vernal Umbrella will fire projectiles at all nearby enemies within 5m. If you have additional Blossoms, then this ability will deal airborne attacks as well.
