During your exploration in Persona 5: The Phantom X, you will come across locked chests that can’t be opened unless you have the right tools. That’s where the Lockpick comes in, but this item cannot be bought from the store. Rather, you need to scavenge for the right materials and craft them in the comfort of your bedroom. If you don’t know how to get yourself a Lockpick, this guide will cover how to craft them in Persona 5 The Phantom X.

Before you begin crafting a Lockpick, you need to first work on the main story quests till you get a Workbench in your bedroom. Next, you need to get the required materials to craft a lockpick. For the lockpick, you will require the following materials.

    • 1x Aluminum Sheet
    • 1x Mercury
    • 1x Moissanite

You can purchase all of these materials by visiting the Second Hand Shop, and it will cost a total of 1800 Yen to purchase everything. If you are running short on cash, you can get cash by either spending Action Points at your places of work, or by leveling up your companion bonds.

For the former, you need to wait till you can spot the Big Reward notice while checking out the Deli, Convenience Store, or the Flower Store. Spending your Action Points during this time will reward you greatly. As for the Companion bonds, each time they level up, you can get random rewards that may also include money.

    How to Use Lockpicks

Now that you have all the materials, head back to your Workbench and craft it. The above materials will only help you craft just one Lockpick, but it is best to carry around a couple more with you since you will encounter locked chests quite frequently. Once used, the Lockpick will disappear from your inventory, hence why it is recommended to take a few of them on your travels.

Once you find the locked chest, just interact with it and the lockpick will be automatically used up from your inventory. In case you don’t have any Lockpicks on you, you can always teleport back home and craft a bunch of them, then go back. There are no penalties for leaving an area within the Palace, so you don’t have to worry if you have run out of lockpicks or forgot to bring extras.

Since the world of Persona 5 The Phantom X is quite large, you need to learn all the core mechanics of the game like Best Team Builds, How To Get Your Favorite Character, and The Best Units To Reroll For.
