Oblivion Remastered lets you encounter some familiar faces as you explore the world of Tamriel. You can also pick up some main story quests and help the NPCs in their task. After speaking to Jauffre, you will be tasked with rescuing Martin in Kvatch after the city becomes overrun by daedra. Rescuing and convincing Martin to join you might seem like a task in itself, so this guide will break down how to complete the Find the Heir quest in Oblivion Remastered.
Find the Heir Quest Guide Oblivion Remastered
To start the Find the Heir quest, you need to complete the prerequisite quest Deliver the Amulet. After that, head over to Weynon Priory and speak to Jauffre. He will tell you about the Emperor’s illegitimate son, Martin, who you need to locate and bring back to Weynon Priory. Head over to Kvatch and enter the Gate of Oblivion to be led inside the city.
Locate Martin
Follow the quest marker to the Chapel of Akatosh, which is located right in front of the entrance. After entering the Chapel, head to the front of the building to find and talk to Brother Martin. Speaking to him will help him realize that the city has been destroyed because of his link to the Emperor. You can try to convince him to come with you, but he will refuse, saying that the citizens need to be saved as well.
Breaking the Seal of Kvatch
Your next objective now is to convince Martin to follow you back. For that, head outside Kvatch and speak to the soldiers defending the city. They will tell you that they need to find a way to close the Oblivion Gate before they can save anyone. To do that, you need to enter through the Oblivion Gate to the Plane of Oblivion. Once you have reached the other side, use your quest marker to navigate the terrain. There will be a couple of enemy encounters and traps, so be careful around here.
Eventually, you will reach the Tower Portal to the Blood Feast. Enter it, then head left to enter the Door to the Rending Hall. Keep following the quest marker and unlocking doors till you reach the top of the tower, where you will find a door leading you to Reaper’s Sprawl. You will get the objective to search for a survivor, and once you enter the room, find and defeat the Dremora Sigil Keeper to collect the Sigil Keep Key. Use the key on the cage in the center of the room to free the survivor.
Close the Oblivion Gate
Head down and exit through the door and speak to Menien Goneld. He will give you a tip to reach the top of the tower to close the Oblivion Gate by destroying the Sigil Stone. Enter the tower ahead and use the Sigil Key on the Citadel Hall Door. Keep going till you reach the Ruined Portal to the Blood Feast. Open the portal, then go around and exit through the door on the left.
Activate the Blood Fountain and the Magicka Essence near the portal’s entrance, then make your way all the way up till you find the Sigil Stone. Activate the Sigil Stone to close the portal, after which you will be teleported back to Kvatch. Find and speak to a soldier called Savlian Matius to inform him about closing the Oblivion Gate.
Rescue the Citizens Inside the Chapel
Savlian Matius will ask your help in defeating the enemies in Kvatch so they can rescue everyone inside the Chapel. Agree to the request, then head inside the city and clear out all enemies. Speak to Savlian again, and he will tell you that the rescue mission is now possible. Enter the Chapel and watch the cutscene unfold, then speak to Martin. He will agree to accompany you to Weynon Priory, thus concluding the Find the Heir quest in Oblivion Remastered.
