The Hand Pump in Starsand Island is how you build extra locations that you can use to fill your watering can, but you need a blueprint before you can build it. However, since you start with a Hand Pump on your property, you won’t need to craft extras until you start expanding your farming area, as your watering can empties quickly.
The Hand Pump Blueprint is both easy to find and easy to miss, because it’s placed in a location that you might not go towards before you have a reason to enter the Moonlit Forest, and the means to unlock the entrance. But if you’re like me and explore everything you can when you start a new game, you’ll likely find the blueprint quite quickly.
Starsand Island – Hand Pump Blueprint Location
In Starsand Island, blueprints can be found, purchased, or earned through quests. The Hand Pump Blueprint is one that you can find, and its location means you can pick it up as soon as you start the game.

Starting from your house, follow the path at the back that heads south. Along this path, when you reach the area where you start finding Copper, there’s a treasure chest. Open the chest, and you’ll receive the Hand Pump Blueprint.
Starsand Island – Making the Hand Pump

The Hand Pump can be made at your Worktable with six Stone Bricks and two Copper Ingots. This means that you’ll need both the Charcoal Kiln and Furnace to prepare the materials. Since both items require Charcoal, you need to craft some by placing one Softwood and two Fiber into the Charcoal Kiln for every two Charcoal you need.
Then, you need to mine Copper from Moonlit Forest or to the south of your house. It takes four ore to craft one ingot.

Of course, the Stones for Stone Bricks are easier to get, as you can mine them from basically anywhere around your farm and in the forest. I gathered too many through clearing my property, meaning I have a good number of them stored. You need four Stones for every Stone Brick.

When you have your materials, you can use the Worktable to finish making the Hand Pump. From there, you’re able to place it on your land so that you have more options for where to fill your watering can as you tend to your crops in Starsand Island.
