The resident technician down in Zalissya hands you the job titled The Lost Boys. The mission has you tracking down a group of people that went missing and our job is to locate them. At one of the points in the Lost Boys quest in Stalker 2, you will be faced with a choice of whether you should help the Ninth. If you want to be sure of what rewards or consequences this decision has, look no further than this guide. Let’s get started!
Stalker 2: Help Or Fight The Ninth?
We recommend siding with Dew to eliminate Ninth. This is because it gets you a good faction standing with the Stalker, 1000 coupons, and the AKM-74S as a reward. You loot the AKM-74S from The Ninth’s body. While initially, the weapon doesn’t pack any punch but after putting it through an upgrade, it does deal a decent amount of damage. From the body, you will also find the PDA to help you with the knowledge about Monolithians.
Let’s talk about both of these choices and how to go about them below.
Option 1: Siding With The Ninth
I want to help you.
Here we decide to roll with The Ninth and defend them from the Dew’s forces.
With the help of The Ninth, our job is to take down the mercenaries waiting for us outside. The combat here will be intense, as they are carrying some strong arms against us. After you fend off the Dew’s forces, speak with the Ninth to get info about him and his faction.
Here, as a reward, you will get the Rubber Layer Blueprint. With the help of a Technician, we can bring improvements to our weapon by using this blueprint. It will bring down the recoil of any weapon down to 15%.
Once you head back to Lens, after you tell them that you sided with Ninth, he will give us 500 Coupons for completing the mission and our action in dealing with the Ninth. Suffice it to say he will question the way we handled this quest and the relationship with the Ninth.
Rewards: 500 Coupons, Rubber Layer Blueprint
Option 2: Taking Down The Ninth
You deserve to die [Attack]
Join Dew Gang to fight the Ninth
Instead of The Ninth, if you decide to shake the hands of Dew, the story will head in a notable direction. Compared to the Ninth side, here you are going to have a bit less difficult battle but more bullets lost. They can soak up way too many bullets, so prepare to carry a healthy amount of ammunition if you want to remove the Ninth from the zone. Loot the dead body to get his broken AKM-74S and PDA.
The guns need to be repaired before taking it to out in any combat scenarios.
The real value of siding with the Dew forces to take out the Ninth comes from Lens. So when you get to Lens let him know your dealings with the Ninth and Dew. He will reward us with 1000 Coupons for finishing the quest.
Reward: 1000 Coupons, AKM-74S
Other Options
While there is a “non-violent ” dialogue option tied to the quest, it always leads to disaster. You can talk to Dew and bluff him by saying the house is empty. But he will start searching the house regardless of your suggestion. This will quickly break out into a firefight against the Ninth.
The other option will be if you tell Dew forces about Monolithians which will lead to you being called a traitor and a firefight breaking afterwards.
A similar choice that you will face is whether to kill Shah or Roosevelt in King of the Hill quest. Do check out our guide on this as well so that you get the best rewards for completing this quest.
