Finding those elusive Artifacts inside anomalies in Stalker 2 is always a struggle in the early game. This is because you start with the Echo Detector which is the weakest when it comes to detecting these artifacts. But you can get a much better one called the Bear Detector which will help you find these Artifacts much more easily. Here is how you can get the Bear Detector in Stalker 2.
How To Get The Bear Detector in Stalker 2
You can get the Bear Detector from Professor Lodochka after completing ‘A Sign of Hope’ side quest in Stalker 2. To get this quest, progress through the main story until you reach the Wild Island. Here, you will meet up with Professor Lodochka during the ‘Hot on the Trail’ main quest. Talk to him and ask him if he needs any help which will lead you to obtain the A Sign of Hope side quest. He will ask you to head into the Noontide Base to shut off a device located on the rooftop of the structure.
How To Complete A Sign Of Hope Quest
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to complete the ‘A Sign of Hope’ side quest to get the Bear Detector in Stalker 2:
- Go up into the Noontide Base by taking the path up the stairs that leads you to the toxic waste storage.
- Make your way up and then rotate around till you find a ladder leading up to a tower, take this ladder.
- Once you reach the top, you can now jump down to the rooftop where you will find a Zombie.
- You will now be contacted by Khors asking you to let the Zombie stay alive. However, Professor Lodochka wants you to kill the zombie instead.
- You can pick either choice here as both will still lead you to get the Bear Detector and seemingly have no long-term implications in the story of Stalker 2.
- After dealing with the Zombie, climb the ladder across from him and shut off the device up there.
- Return to Professor Lodochka and complete the quest to get your Bear Detector.
Getting the Bear Detector in Stalker 2 is one of the more important things you should have as a priority. This is not just because the Bear Detector is much better than the Echo Detector, it also features an in-built radar display that will point you toward the general direction of the artifact.
Compared to the Echo which only blinks faster the closer you get, the Bear Detector will let you know its direction right off the bat. This is especially useful in the early game as there will be multiple Artifacts that seem impossible to find with the default Echo Detector.
