After solving the Toluca Prison weights and scale puzzle, you will get the Execution Lever from the statue near the Hangman puzzle area. Use the lever to unlock the Hangman puzzle box and start the poem puzzle. On each side of the hangman doll, you will spot three incomplete poems, making it a total of 6 incomplete poems. You will also notice several parts of the poem at the bottom of the box. You need to match the poems lying at the bottom of the box with the right poems on top.

The fastest way to complete the puzzle is to note the torn line between the poems and align them perfectly, but sometimes that won’t always work. Rather you need to figure out which poem part at the bottom fits well with the poems listed beside the hangman. The problem is that there are two or more possibilities for each poem, so you need to mix and match to know which poem goes where. Depending on which difficulty you are playing in, you will get different poem and different solutions, as outlined below
Light Difficulty Hangman Poem Solutions
Poem | Solution |
Hallowed was the place, this one set ablaze. | T’was the home of evil, it had to be razed. |
This one took from others, t’was a sinful deed. | Stealing not to eat, but to feed his own greed. |
This one, he did kidnap his beloved daughter. | In a fit of anger, bloody end he brought her. |
This one broke the lock, to steal, I’ll tell you plain. | One more place to plunder, One more wrongful gain. |
This one dared to take his own mother’s life. | Did it just for pleasure not over a strife. |
This one clenched his fist, and has pulled no punch. | Turned against his bully, turned his brain to mulch. |

For your grace I do not plead, For the flames I did set free… | Though the young ones’ deaths I mourn | I watched them burn |
The wealth of others I did take, The seventh statue I did break… | The reason, I have to say | What were those reasons, you might ask |
I took the child, you are quite right, Carried her off into the night… | My only daughter, joy of days | Forgive me child, for I have failed |
Once the sun has ceased its reign, I cut through the rusty chain… | I departed with great haste | So, my guilt is plain to see |
Mommy dearest, mommy sweet, Your love for me was so deep… | You were, oh, so, kind to me | You broke my legs, I couldn’t walk |
I waited long, I bid my time, I waited to commit my crime… | In truth, I did not hesitate | In truth, he was less man than beast |

Under veil of nightfall, in the ink of dusk, A blazing inferno engulfs the wooden husk. | Death of the blameless, a damnable sin, Wracked with guilt, his soul withers from within | A contorted chill dances on his spine, As their souls fly forth on Thanathos’ sigh. | As the spark of life from her eyes did flee, The man held his gaze with wicked glee |
In twilight’s grasp, a thief emerges sly, Through the veils of night, his purpose veiled, awry. | His avarice driving every cunning theft, No conscience stirs, no remorse is left. | With hands atremble, he seizes what he must, A wretched dance, fueled by hunger’s thrust | |
In shroud of twilight, a tale doth unfold, Where the shadows dance, their secrets are told. | A tragic fruition, a mother’s despair, Her heiress undone by the one she once loved, | Amidst the moon’s glow, a desperate truth, The man’s life of pain and in peril, forsooth | A cruel twist of fate, an outcome unsought, The little one perishes, it was all for naught. |
In clandestine steps, darkness as his guide, The man ventures deeper, where riches doth hide | Amidst the moon’s glow, a desperate truth, The man’s life of pain and in peril, forsooth. | Beneath moonlit guise, a villain’s design, He trespasses where treasures brightly shine. | A contorted chill dances on his spine, As their souls fly forth on Thanathos’ sigh. |
With her senses falling, she looks, mouth agape, At the one who forced her spirit to escape. | Twas a twisted fate that forced the man’s hand, A son at mother’s mercy, his life in hell he’d spend. | The victim’s eyes wide with terror and fright, The attacker’s nature now comes into light. | Desperation’s grip suffocates the air, The attacker’s past, a tale of despair. |
In shadows cast, the hunter lies in wait. His violent intent cloaked in a veil of fate | Desperation’s grip suffocates the air, The attacker’s past, a tale of despair. | As the spark of life from her eyes did flee, The man held his gaze with wicked glee | The victim’s eyes wide with terror and fright, The attacker’s nature now comes into light. |
You might have to mix and match all the possibilities to find out the right answer, as each playthrough will offer a different outcome

Once the poems are done, you can turn around and find six nooses appear under each numbered gallow. The numbers represent each of the hangman poems, and your task here is to pull the right noose. To determine the correct noose to pull, you need to read the completed poems thoroughly, then read the clue on top of the hangman puzzle box, and find out which poem portrays the most guilty convict or the most innocent.
The answer will vary with each playthrough, but don’t worry if you don’t get it right the first time. Pick the poem number that you feel depicts either the most innocent or the most villainous intention according to the clue. Then find the gallow of the same number and interact with the noose. You will either fall into a pit of enemies or onto a path leading to the labyrinth.
Even if you pick the wrong choice and meet enemies, you can run towards the ladder and get back up to the puzzle room and try again. This concludes the Hangman Poem puzzle or the Gallows puzzle in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
