RuneScape Dragonwilds offers multiple rewards, but some are hidden behind a questline. You must finish the side quest to gain access to all the good items that will make your initial playthrough a joyful ride. Here we will take a look at the Dog Days questline in the game and how you can access it, and the steps you must complete to finish the quest.
How To Start & Complete Dog Days Quest In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
NPC: Vannaka
Boss Fight: Garou King
Area Level Requirements: Level 4
Reward: Garou Highborn’s Cloak
In the quest, we must defeat the Garou king to obtain a Tainted Token, and then use an altar to perform a ritual. This will purify the Tainted Token and finish the quest.
First, you must find Vannaka, located in a small camp east of the Stormtouched Highlands. You will find him underneath the rock overhang, next to the bonfire. Talk to him, exhaust all the dialogue to start the Dog Day questline in the game.
Objective: “Search Garou camps beneath giant wyrm bones in the Highlands for information on Garou ritual practices.“
- Now, make your way to the Garou Camp located southwest of the map. The camp will be covered by a large rib cage. Inside you will find a treasure chest and right to the chest a lore note, reading the note will update the objective.
Objective: “Challenge a Garou king in their Highland stronghold and claim their token“
- It’s time to face the boss of the side quest, he can be found in the Highland Stronghold, located northwest of the edge of the map. You will find Garou king out in the open, next to the water. Make sure to be prepared for the fight. Defeating him will award you with the Tainted King’s Token.
Tip: If you are having difficulty facing the boss, you can always team up with friends to take care of him quickly.
Objective: “Complete the ritual of purification on the King’s Token at the ancient shrine where a heart once beat.”
- After obtaining the Tainted King’s Token, it’s time to purify it on an altar found northeast of the map. Head to the Lougrim’s Shrine at Wyrm’s heart to perform the ritual of purification. Here for the ritual, you will need a few items: Ram Horns x3 and Shocking Plant Bulbs x3.
- Raw Horn’s Location: The item can be obtained by killing Rams found in Stormtouched Highlands. They are easily noticeable, the rams are equipped with pink-colored horns.
- Shocking Plant Bulbs’ Location: You can get the bulbs by slaying Wild Lapulis Vine, also found in the Stormtouched Highlands region of the map. Defeating the vines will drop a Shocking Plant Bulb along with some Ash Logs.
- Place the items (Ram Horn and Shocking Plant Bulbs) and complete the ritual to turn the Tainted King’s Token into the Purified King’s Token.
Objective: “Bring the Purified King’s Token to Vannaka in the Ghornfell Highlands.“
- Now with the token in hand, get back to the Vannaka NPC in the small camp, where we started the quest.
Handing him the Purified King’s Token completes the quest and awards us with Garou High Born’s Cloak. A good piece of defence armor that comes with 2x physical, magic, and ranged protection.Â
