Reanimal is a very short game, but that doesn’t stop it from having many collectibles to find. One collectible is in the form of Critters, small spider-like creatures that run away at the sight of you.
There are five Critters in Reanimal and in order for the game to register that you found one, you need to kill it with your crowbar by smacking it a couple of times. These Critters are hard to find, especially on a first playthrough.
If you’re having trouble finding all Critters in the game, this guide shows you their locations. Here’s how to find all Critters in Reanimal.
Critter Location #1: The Cleaning House
The first Critter in Reanimal can be found in The Cleaning House chapter, after obtaining the crowbar in the Cinema area.
From the Cinema’s entrance, head southeast to find a door that is blocked with wooden planks. Approach the planks with your companion and interact with it to rip the planks off with your crowbar. Inside this room, you will find a Critter covered by a traffic cone.
Approach the traffic cone and start wacking it with your crowbar to kill the Critter. You will also get to pick up the traffic cone and place it on your head, unlocking one of the many masks in the game.
Critter Location #2: After the Flood
After sailing your boat across the sea, you’ll eventually reach a large cannon with a beach nearby. Make your way to the beach.
Once you reach the beach and climb the long ladders to the top of the mountain, you’ll find a field of yellow flowers. The Critter can be found by hitting the scarecrow on the left side of the field.
Critter Location #3: No Shelter
Another Critter can be found in the No Shelter chapter of Reanimal, right after entering the Clock Tower through the hole in the broken clock.
Once you first enter the Clock Tower, head all the way to the right to find a hole in the wall and crouch through it. After going through the hole, you will see a Critter scurry by and go to the room you just came from.
Return through the hole to find the Critter running around the room and kill it with your crowbar. Killing this Critter will reward you with a bucket mask.
Critter Location #4: Nobody Left Behind
The Critter in the Nobody Left Behind chapter of Reanimal can be easy to miss since there is one step a player must take to make it appear.
When you reach the machine that requires a code to call down the missiles, go to the outside area to find a box with a fish symbol hanging over the edge. Interact with this box to knock it down to the beach below.
Next, when you return to the beach area after calling down the missiles, make your way to the left side of the beach to find the Critter running around. Go ahead and kill the Critter with your crowbar. Make sure to pick up the mask it drops too.
Critter Location #5: The Watcher
The last Critter can be found during The Watcher chapter, where you are being hunted by a sniper. In the room with four hanging corpses, shoot the one with the key in its hand to have it drop the key.
Next, use the key to go into the room to the right, where you will find an oven on the ground. Open the over to have the Critter run out and scurry back to the room with the hanging corpses.
This Critter is too fast to hit it with a crowbar, so grab one of the guns on the right side of the room and shoot it to officially kill it.
