Reanimal’s demo gives you access to the beginning hours of the game, featuring two prominent locations – the Mill and the Trainyard. While you progress through the demo, you’ll face puzzles that require both you and your companions to solve them. While some of them you can solve on your own, others require the help of your companion. Here’s how you can call your companion and get an extra pair of hands when solving puzzles in the Reanimal demo.
Calling Your Companion in Reanimal

To call your companion in Reanimal, press ‘C’ on your keyboard. Many of the puzzles in the demo require the help of your companion in the game. You take control of The Boy, and meet The Girl shortly after the demo opens. From that point onwards, you’ll face puzzles and have to push levers throughout your journey through the Mill and the Trainyard.
When you need The Girl’s help with a puzzle, say, holding down a lever while you look for a platform, you need to press ‘C’ on your keyboard near the lever, and The Girl will hold it down for you. Reanimal is all about strategic movement, and you need to make use of The Girl and yourself to progress through the demo. If you’re playing online co-op, then you do not need to press ‘C’ on your keyboard to call your companion, since there’s already a player controlling The Girl.
Reanimal Demo Bugs

There have been reports of bugs present in the Reanimal demo, as per the Steam Community, which halt progress of the game and soft-lock players, making them unable to progress. When this happens, make sure to reload your last checkpoint or exit out of the game, then try again. There’s a specific bug that occurs during the part with the rotating tube, where if you activate the lever on the right side after the tube, you cannot move your character or call your companion.
To avoid this problem, do not pull the lever yourself. Instead, call your companion and have her pull down the lever. Let go of the lever when the prompt pops up, then press ‘C’ on your keyboard, and have your companion pull down the lever for you. This will let you progress the demo without any issues. Reanimal does not explain what you need to do, which is why you need to figure it out yourself.
If you face any such issues progressing through the Reanimal demo, either reload the last checkpoint and try again, or have your companion take part in solving the puzzle instead of you doing it alone. This will ensure a smooth sailing in the nightmarish world, struggling for survival. This brings us to the end of how you can call your companion in Reanimal.
