Palworld now has some new structures as part of the Tides of Terraria update, and you can place implants and change genders of your Pals. If you have the Pal Surgery Table unlocked, you would have found out that you can add new passives to your Pals, and much more. If you are still looking for a quick guide to help you use the new structure, you can keep reading below.

Pal Surgery Table Explained in Palworld

The Pal Surgery Table is a level 36 schematic that you can unlock under the Technology tree using 3 Tech points. It is quite easy to craft too, as you require High Quality Cloth x20 and Refined Ingot x30. You can place it anywhere on your base and interact with it to find a list of Pals that are currently in your party. You can select any one of these Pals and add it to the surgery table, where you can change their passives or gender using the two tabs within the surgery menu.

    How to Change Pal Passives

To change a Pal’s passive using the Surgery Table, you need to purchase the implant chips from certain vendors. The Bounty Officer at Small Settlement and the Arena Merchant at the Pal Arena do have implant chips of various passives for sale. The Small Settlement vendor will require 30x Successful Bounty Tokens per implant, while the Pal Arena vendor will trade the implants for 30x or 50x Battle Tickets, depending on the implant type.

To find out where your new implants are stored, you can check the Key Items tab in your inventory to locate them. Next, head over to the Pal Surgery Table, select a Pal from your party, then head over to the Transfer Passives tab. Over here, select the Passive implant chip from the list, then select the slot where you would like to place or replace any existing passive. It will cost 50,000 Gold for a Legendary Passive or 10,000 Gold for a normal passive to be added to your Pal.

    How to Change Pal Gender

For this one, you will require 1x Pal Reverser each time you change a Pal’s gender. Pal Reversers are one of the rarest items to find while scavenging chests and loot boxes in the overworld. Luckily, you can get this item through the following ways.

    • Purchase it from the Arena Vendor for 35x battle tickets.
    • Select it from the rewards list after completing bounties.
    • Purchase from the Small Settlement officer for 7x Bounty Tokens.

You can then follow the same steps as changing a Pal’s passives, and convert them to the opposite gender. This feature is important if you are unable to find a gender type of a particular Pal for breeding purposes.
