The great thing about Nioh 3 is that the game marks collectibles and activities on your map when you reach a certain exploration level. However, there will be times when you go to complete a specific activity, just to have trouble actually locating it or reaching it, like Spirit Veins, for example.
The reason for this is because some activities and collectibles are really well hidden, requiring some thorough exploration or puzzle solving to find them One example is the Crucible Wraith in Maisaka, which is located underwater.
If you’re having trouble reaching the underwater Crucible Wraith in Maisaka in Nioh 3, this guide will walk you through how to find it.
How to Find the Underwater Crucible Wraith in Maisaka in Nioh 3

When first searching for the Crucible Wraith in Maisaka in Nioh 3, you’re first instinct is to check the base itself. However, the Crucible Wraith is nowhere to be found inside the base, and it turns out to be located underwater.
Unfortunately, players can’t swim in Nioh 3, so jumping into the water will only result in meeting the infamous death screen. In this case, you need to find a way to lower the water to reach the Crucible Wraith.

To lower the water in Maisaka, you need to pull the two levers on the south and east sides of the base. You can find these two levers next to the dam devices, shown in the images below.

After pulling both of these levers, you will be able to go into the canal by using a nearby ladder and find the Crucible Wraith. The Crucible Wraith is located in a cave, which can be accessed by jumping across the rock platforms.
Crucible Wraith Rewards
The reward for defeating the Crucible Wraith in Maisaka is an enhanced Nure-onna Soul Core that allows you to summon the mermaid-like enemies in Nioh 3. This Soul Core allows summoning when placed in the Yang position.
Additionally, the Soul Core earned from the Crucible Wraith in Maisaka will unlock an enhanced version of the Talisman that is equipped in the Yin position of the Onmyo Box.
The Soul Cores earned from Crucible Wraiths in Nioh 3 are more powerful than the ones you typically find from defeating standard enemies. That’s why it’s recommended to beat as many Crucible Wraiths as possible to improve your character for the challenging bosses that lie ahead.
