I have encountered the weirdest bosses in Mewgenics, from bosses like Radical Rat to Queen Hippo. Similarly, Man in The Moon is another such weird but fun boss to deal with in Act 2 of Mewgenics. If you’re a Pokémon fan, this boss fight would give you the feeling Pikachu experienced when he first encountered Brock’s Onix.
As you invest hours in Mewgenics and progress to Act 2, or even late-Act 1, you’ll observe that most bosses have incredibly high HP. It is completely normal to struggle with these bosses initially, especially before coming up with a strategy to take them down. This guide focuses on the strategy to beat Man In The Moon in Mewgenics.
How To Prepare

When it comes to dealing damage to bosses in Mewgenics, Items like Revolver can be helpful since they deal 25 damage to bosses. However, in case of Man In The Moon, his 10 Brace prevents you from being able to take advantage of the Item. Fortunately for you, there’s a workaround that we will discuss later in this guide.
Besides Weapons, it would be a good idea to carry enough healables (like Rotisserie Chicken) since your cats would have to survive the fight long enough to drain the massive HP bar of the boss.
Man In The Moon Moveset

Primarily, Man In The Moon has two moves, and the key to beating the boss is utilizing one of his attacks against him. Additionally, the boss casts 10 Brace on itself, which can only be removed until the end of the turn if you can manage to make one of its Moon Hands hit itself.
Breath Attack – This boss uses this attack at the beginning and end of each round, pushing all units back 10 tiles.
Moon Hand – Man In The Moon keeps two of his Moon Hands close to himself. These floating hands have their own turn and HP. With 100 Hit Points each, the hands add to the enemy’s HP and get to a total of 600, which is equivalent to that of Pyrophina’s.
Attack them from a distance to turn them towards the boss and deal dash damage to it. However, if you are close to it, it will grab and trap you inside its fist. Thus, the best way to go about it would be to deal ranged damage to the hands as they are turned towards Man In The Moon. Furthermore, if you are standing on a tile adjacent to Moon Hand, it will turn towards you and grab/hit you.
How To Beat Man In The Moon

The best strategy to beat Man In The Moon is to first deal with his Brace effect, since you definitely don’t want to deal 10 less damage to a boss with already high HP. To remove Brace from the boss, bait the Moon Hands to the centre and hit them with ranged attacks to hit the stone boss. Once the Brace effect is off, use your Revolver to deal as much damage as you can (up to 200; 25 damage to bosses with each use).
Keep your crew in two pairs, with the high melee damage-dealing cats close to the boss. Your ranged cats will be away from the boss at all times and will only focus on baiting the Moon Hand to deal heavy damage to Man In The Moon.
You can also stack damage if you get multiple hits on Moon Hand while it is facing towards the boss. Heal up your cats and repeat the process until the boss’s health is depleted.
Bonus Trick: How To Beat Man In The Moon Instantly

If you have already beaten Pyrophina, one of the two Act 2 House Bosses in Mewgenics, you have just done yourself a huge favor because you now have a free ticket to beating Man In The Moon instantly.
After venturing to The Core and beating Pyrophina as it spawns at your house, you are rewarded with an Item called Scalding Orb. Remember to carry it for your adventure to The Moon because this Item is your ticket to beating the boss instantly. All you have to do is equip it to a cat’s Weapon slot and feed it to Man In The Moon to kill it instantly. Sounds easy, right?
Well, equipping the Item applies 3 Burn to the particular cat, with 1 Burn decrease every turn. To avoid taking Burn damage, pass the Item to another cat. The Scalding Orb allows you to throw it to a crewmate, considering their Weapons slot is empty. As the fight starts, move towards the centre of the three tiles near his mouth. The boss will gobble your cat up and spit it back quickly, dealing some damage to it in the process. Once the job is done, the orb breaks, and you can enjoy watching him go down without requiring you to break a sweat.
NOTE: Remember to heal your Scalding Orb-equipped cat before moving towards the boss, as it can get downed when spit out.
