Forbidden Frost is one of several ‘Forbidden’ spells in Mewgenics, each of which is a free-to-cast, devastating spell that comes with a permanent cost.
Forbidden Frost stands out amongst the rest as a great, flexible panic spell that can save a run that’s otherwise doomed. Today, we’ll go over Forbidden Frost itself, the consequences of Forbidden spells, and how to find them.
What Does Forbidden Frost Do?

Forbidden Frost is a Mage class spell that freezes every unit on the board other than the caster, and a single extra unit of choice. Every enemy takes 5 damage, and every ally is healed 5 HP, both values scaling with Magic Power.
Forbidden Frost, like the other Forbidden Spells, is free to cast, at least when it comes to mana. The spell can only be cast once per battle, and saddles the caster with a permenant negative effect for casting it.
This can be any inherited passive in the game, some of which are of little consequence, like Dyslexia, while others can horrifically alter a unit.
You’ll need to really weigh whether or not it’s worth casting the spell, but for the right moment, it could be make or break.
How to Find Forbidden Spells

The Forbidden Spells are mostly locked behind the Mage class, randomly rolled alongside any other active ability. The only exception I’ve come into contact with is Forbidden Fart, a colorless AOE spell that poisons and knocks back all nearby units for the Forbidden cost.
Mages tend to struggle filling a generalist role, and get stuck with whatever niche spells they can find. Having a mage be your dedicated Forbidden caster is far from a bad choice as such.
If you like the risk and reward of such power, keep running Mages in your attempts, and you’re sure to find a Forbidden Spell or two.
Other Forbidden Spells

It seems there’s a Forbidden spell for each elemental category, including Frost, Fire, and Lightning, alongside the previously mentioned Fart. Each grants a massive burst of the element’s gimmick before the price is enacted, and there seems to be no way to avoid it.
Even finishing fights with the Forbidden spells inflict the random debuff, so be sure if you’re thinking about breaking it out.
