With countless activities and tons of boss fights, there is no shortage of tough challenges in Metaphor: ReFantazio, but it doesn’t stop there. Let’s look at the requirements to access this Superboss fight and tips on how you can defeat it.

How To Get Closing The Book Trophy In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Interact with the Book of Apocalypse

You can get Closing the Book Trophy by completing the Redscale Dragon Superboss fight which can be accessed by selecting the Book of Apocalypse in Akademia. This can only be accessed after beating the game and starting a New Game Plus. This will require you to get to at least level 70 in your New Game Plus playthrough as it would be almost impossible to fight this Superboss at lower levels.

You also need to be on easy difficulty or higher for the entirety of it. Changing the difficulty to Storyteller even once will make you lose the opportunity to fight the Redscale Dragon Superboss for the entire New Game Plus playthrough. This is to ensure you can’t just skip your way past everything to get to this fight. But the reward is worth the effort as you will earn the Closing the Book trophy which is one of the toughest ones to get in Metaphor ReFantazio.

    Tips and Strategy

Here are some tips that will help you fight the Redscale Dragon Superboss in Metaphor Refantazio and defeat it easily:

    • Do not use Drain or Repel on any of the attacks that the Redscale Dragon throws at you. If you do that, he will launch an attack in return that is so devastating that it will kill your entire party altogether. This includes making sure to not equip any Repel or Absorb gear on any of your characters.
    • When it comes to your equipment, it helps to have fire-nullifying gear like the Cardinal Dragon Armor and Cardinal Dragon Robe. You can also go for Dragon’s Fall Sword for the Protagonist to deal extra damage and Dynastic Blade for Strohl to get extra Slash damage.
    • While most of the items carry over from your regular playthrough into New Game Plus, items such as Reverent Crown do not. So make sure you get it for your Protagonist as it will give you an extra turn icon at the start. The same goes for Knight’s Last Stand for Eupha, this will help you survive with 1 HP and also give her the ability to revive your whole party by summoning Harvest God.
    • You can also craft Sublime Spoonfuls to increase the amount of turns. Each Sublime Spoonful will give you four extra turns at your disposal. If you really want to, you can even cheese this fight by gathering an atrocious amount of Sublime Spoonfuls before the fight and then just spamming it throughout the fight to get virtually infinite turns.

While it is tough to progress to this point in the game and get the Closing the Book trophy in Metaphor ReFantazio, the Superboss fight itself shouldn’t be that much harder than other dragon bosses. As long as you are around level 80, it won’t take many tries for you to defeat the elusive Redscale Dragon Superboss. Since you managed to beat the game once to start the New Game Plus, you should know how to get all endings in Metaphor ReFantazio so you can pick a different one for this playthrough.
