Each quest in Mandragora Whispers of the Witch Tree will unravel more of the lore surrounding the world of Faeldumm. There are tons of NPCs you can recruit, and they might also give you some quests to help them out. While speaking to Alannah, she will share her doubts of someone stealing her materials. How To Start & Complete The Thief Quest In Mandragora
To start the Thief side quest, you first need to recruit Alannah, then progress through the main quests till you defeat the Entropic Wyrm boss. After that, speak to Alannah at the Witch Tree and this quest will appear in your quest log. Your next objective is to Follow the Trail, where you will be tasked with finding the thief in question. First up, find and talk to Ulfar at your Witch Tree. But he won’t have anything to say about the missing ingredients, so continue east till you reach the edge of the forest.
After entering the forest, you will meet Faust, who happens to be Alannah’s cat. Only that it can talk and is twice its normal size. During the conversation, Faust will mention that you don’t tell Alannah anything about this interaction, after which the objective will be completed. Return to Alannah and you will get two choices to make here. You can either tell Alannah about her cat, or lie.
Lie or Tell the Truth to Alannah
Choosing to lie to her and keeping Faust’s secret will unlock Faust as a merchant later on. You can access its store back in the forest to purchase herbs and seeds. In case you informed Alannah about Faust, then he won’t appear as a merchant in the forest and will instead disappear. Alannah will also be a bit skeptical about your claims, and she might interact with you a little differently henceforth. Whichever option you pick, the quest will end, and with it you will receive 1300 Essence and 2x Raven Claw Seeds.
