Your first introduction to a friendly settlement inside the Zone in Stalker 2 will be the town of Zalissya. Fast forward some decent hours into the game and you will have long forgotten about it. But, after going to the SIRCAA facility, you will get a call from good ol’ Gaffer asking you to aid Zalissya from the attack of the Monoliths. Here is how you can go there and save Zalissya in Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl.

How To Save Zalissya From Monolith Attack In Stalker 2
To save Zalissya in Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl, you will have to head straight to Zalissya after the mission “Just Like the Good Old Days” where you go into the SIRCAA facility. When you get an objective to take the Emitter to Star as part of the main mission called “An Invisible Threat”; on your journey you will receive a call for help from Gaffer. He will ask you to come to his aid as Zalissya is under attack.
If you ignore this and go complete the main mission first, Zalissya will fall and will be destroyed. As soon as you hear the radio call about the attack, book it straight to Zalissya before everyone dies at the hands of the Monoliths. Save your game before reaching Zalissya too because this mission is known to be very buggy and can glitch out.
Survive The First Wave
The first wave of Monolith soldiers attacking Zalissya will have already begun before you get there. Once you are there, eliminate all the enemies in the town as quickly as possible before any NPCs die. After taking everyone out, talk to Gaffer but many people have reported this part of the mission to be bugged.
Sometimes Gaffer may be inside a building with locked doors which puts you in a soft lock, so reload your save if you are stuck. You can also try leaving the area momentarily and returning or firing off some bullets to make NPCs come out of the locked building. Another bug that is frequently encountered is the enemies themselves freezing and not responding to your attacks, or dying. In such a case, what has also worked in a few cases is luring them outside by firing bullets.
Helping Local NPCs
Now that you have successfully defended against the Monolith enemies, the next task will be to check up on the residents and see if they require any help to recover from this attack. In this part, you will need to help Warlock, Mykolayich, and Hamster with their own little missions.
Warlock will ask you to bring back his trusty sniper from his house. Simply go to the marked house on the map and retrieve the sniper called Partner. You can choose not to return this sniper and keep it for yourself but know that it will fail this particular side objective with Warlock.
Mykolayich on the other hand will ask you to retrieve the surgery kit for him so that he can help tend to the injuries of the town technician. He will give you the coordinates of three different stashes, loot all of them and you should find the surgery kit in one of them.
Lastly, you will find Hamster taking cover inside the emission shelter. You will find out that he is being a bit of a coward by locking himself in there and not sharing the supplies. To resolve this without any issues, threaten him about it and then ask the guard how much he got paid for this. Eventually, this will lead to a peaceful conclusion.
Survive The Second Wave
After doing all those tasks above to save Zalissya in Stalker 2, you will have one task remaining which requires you to check up on Uncle Lyonya, the local guide. Head south to his house and interact with the radio in order to listen to the message. You can also pick up the Seva Suit that will be sitting nearby.
It will be revealed that Uncle Lyonya is an undercover Monolith agent and you will now have to fight him and other Monolith soldiers as soon as you step out. Once you are done with that, head back to Zalissya. Talk to Gaffer to complete this section of the mission. However, don’t leave town yet as shortly after you complete these tasks, the second wave of attack from the Monoliths will occur. Hold your ground and fight as hard as possible to win this sudden attack.
Once it’s over, Gaffer will broadcast over the radio and say that Zalissya is now safe. This is when you will have successfully saved Zalissya in Stalker 2. The only person you should lose during this is the guide Uncle Lyonya which is an intended outcome for this mission.
But if you end up losing other NPCs during the gunfights, I advise you to load up your save and try again for a better result. It’s almost impossible to do this mission without running into any bugs so make sure that everything and everyone is fine before you decide to progress further in the game.
