As you progress through the game, you’ll get access to new upgrades at the Workbench at the Warehouse. One of these upgrades will help you register keys at your base. Registering Keys in Escape from Duckov
Build the Key Registration Device using 1x Circuit, 1x CD Drive and 1x Metal Plate. You can find these materials and keys by hunting through the game’s world, looting from enemies or by unlocking random chests.
Once you’ve built the Key Registration Device, you can use it to register found keys, which will offer access to locked doors permanently, without physically carrying the key everywhere. However, registering special keys will not give them permanence since they have durability. For every other key, you get permanent access to locked doors that use the corresponding keys.
Before you can start registering keys using the Key Registration Device, build the Workbench which will set you back a meagre 2x Wood. Having the Key Registration Device is incredibly useful, since you lose all your loot once you get eliminated in Escape from Duckov. With the Key Registration Device active, you won’t lose the keys you’ve registered even after you die since you’ve been granted permanent access to them, even without having the physical keys.
This offers the option to not bring keys into a Raid. Once you register the key, whichever key it is, you keep it forever, regardless of if you die in the future or not. When you obtain a key which you think is useful, head to the Key Registration Device and use it to register. This will save the key for future Raids. From the “Key” menu, you can access any registered key, and the game will give you the option to use a registered key when you’re near a specific door or container.
Key Registration Device Bug
There’s a bug that’s currently present in Escape from Duckov, which doesn’t save the key when you register it with the Key Registration Device like it’s intended to. Due to this bug, many players aren’t able to register their keys successfully. Normally, when you register a key with the Key Registration Device, you can use those keys to open their corresponding doors permanently, without ever bringing the physical key.
However, due to this bug, players lose their keys after dying even after registering them with the Key Registration Device, which isn’t supposed to happen. When this happens, you’ll notice that you don’t have the key you registered during a Raid. Players on the Escape from Duckov subreddit have reported this bug being present, so be careful while registering your keys at the Key Registration Device, and always check if it gives you permanent availability. If it doesn’t, that means it’s bugged.
