Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an open-world adventure, and as such, you will end up collecting some unique items that have different uses in the game. There are tons of items that you can acquire during early gameplay, and you might not have a clue on its use. Such is the case with the Color of Lumina, and you might find a bunch of them sitting in your inventory without a purpose. This guide will clear up how to use the Color of Lumina as well as how to get more of it in Clair Obscure Expedition 33.

You will naturally collect Color of Lumina as you keep playing the game. You can get them as enemy drops, or by scavenging in the overworld. Some merchants can also sell Color of Lumina, so you can buy them and add them to your collection. Overall, the more you explore the world, the more chances you get to find this item. You might have a better time locating more Color of Lumina by exploring off the main path and scavenging around the lesser explored areas.

The Color of Lumina can be used after unlocking the Curator, which happens only after progressing a while in Act 1. You have to complete the Flying Waters quest and defeat the boss to recruit Maelle. At the same time, you get an indicator to set up camp at the Continent. While doing so, you will also spot a new merchant called the Curator appear at your base.

Interacting with the Curator will help you spend all the Color of Lumina that you have acquired and spend it on a character of your choice. This can unlock new Lumina effects on the Pictos system of the character that you choose to spend this resource on. You get one Lumina point for each Color of Lumina spent, which isn’t a lot, but can effectively unlock some new skills on your character.

Unlocking more Lumina slots will effectively increase the number of passive skills your character can use at one time. This will be especially helpful as you progress further into the game and uncover more difficult obstacles to overcome.

Meanwhile, check our guide here on how to leave the Gestral Village early on in the game.
