The Shroomling’s Zephyr isn’t just another bow to add to your weapon arsenal — this weapon can literally change the way you play Infinity Nikki.
I knew I had to have it because it’s the only weapon that lets you move while shooting, making it perfect for fast-paced combat.
But like most weapons in the game, this unique bow is locked behind a complicated quest called the Old Tears Shed Again: Snail Ranch. Trying to trigger this quest took far longer than expected, let alone the time spent completing it.
If you are stuck, this guide provides the exact method to unlock the Shroomling’s Zephyr efficiently in Infinity Nikki.
Old Tears Shed Again: Snail Ranch Quest Guide Infinity Nikki
Before you begin, ensure you have completed all prior Tales of Itzaland quests, as they may be required to unlock this quest.
Also, level up your Sticky Claw ability until you increase the range of your pull skill. Next, seek out Amimi southeast of the Snail Clinic waypoint in Snail Ranch. Speak to her to unlock the Old Tears Shed Again: Snail Ranch quest.
Bug: If the quest doesn’t trigger, look above Amimi to find a grapple point and use it to land on the leaves above. Float down after that and speak to her to get the quest to start.
Find the Sleeping Shoomlings
Open up your World Map to find three marked locations. These locations indicate where you will find the Sleeping Shoomlings for Amimi.
When you step foot in these areas, look around for large pink mushroom heads. Speak to each one to start a mini-game.
How to Play the Snailfruit Mini-Game
Your goal here is to merge Snailfruits of the same color to create a bigger Snailfruit. You will spot several Snailfruits appear nearby, and they come in two distinct colors.
Switch between the Sticky Claw outfit and the Archery outfit to push or pull the smaller Snailfruits together.
In case you encounter Snailfruits that are up above your reach, look around for trampolines that will plummet you further up to get to them. Switch to the Witch outfit to glide around for a bit until you get a good angle to pull or push the Snailfruit around.
Some puzzle areas will have a translucent thread encasing the arena. If the Snailfruit touches them, they will split. To avoid them splitting up further, use the trampoline to bounce up and pull up the Snailfruit above the puzzle area to easily merge them.
Waking up the Sleeping Shoomling
Once the mini-game starts, take a look at the meter that appears on your screen and aim to fill it up.
Each time you successfully merge the Snailfruit, the meter will fill up. Eventually, once you have merged all the Snailfruits around and the meter is full, speak to the three Shoomlings in each area to receive your reward: A Crystal of Blessing.
Keep talking to the Shoomling until you exhaust dialogue options and wake them. Then, return to Amimi to finish the quest and receive your rewards:
- Diamond x50
- Bling x200000
- Mira XP x600
- Thread of Purity x50
How to Get the Shroomling’s Zephyr
While you don’t get the Shoomling Bow from this quest, you need to cash in your collected Crystals of Blessing at the Compendium of Blessings to get it. Head over to the island south of Shell Island near Elderwood Forest. You will spot a Compendium of Blessings waypoint.
Investigate the base of the large tree trunk to get to the Compendium of Blessings menu. Since completing the Old Tears Shed Again: Snail Ranch quest will be your fourth quest on the list, you will get the Shroomling’s Zephyr as one of your rewards.
Using the Shroomling’s Zephyr Bow
This bow allows Nikki to move and shoot while pressing the Attack button. If you use the Shroom Bloom archery skill, this will awaken the Shroomling’s Zephyr to trigger the Shroomcap Unfurled state.
In this state, all basic and charged attacks are enhanced. Maintaining this state will consume Bow Energy. You also get to plant Mushroom Bombs that explode when Esslings get close.
