How to Get Alchemical Dust in Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era

In Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, resources are super important for progressing. One of the rarest and most useful ones is Alchemical Dust. You’ll need it for a bunch of upgrades, but figuring out where to get it can be confusing since it doesn’t show up in regular marketplaces.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era – How to Get Alchemical Dust

The best way to get Alchemical Dust is to trade rare resources in Alchemical Labs. Other than this, you can also get this resource by:

    • Disenchating items in your inventory
    • from exploration
    • unlocking the Economy skill

Let’s look at each of these.

    1. Trade Rare Resources in Alchemical Labs

One of the main sources of Alchemical Dust is through Alchemical Labs, special buildings that appear randomly on the map. These labs allow you to trade rare resources like gems, crystals, and mercury to craft dust.

You can’t buy it directly or find it in every game. Whether an Alchemical Lab appears on your map is random, so you’ll need to explore thoroughly. Once you find one, exchange three rare resources (the same ones used for high-tier units) to produce Alchemical Dust.

    2. Disenchant Items in Your Hero’s Inventory

Another reliable way to get Alchemical Dust is by disenchanting unwanted artifacts or scrolls. To do this, open your hero’s inventory and select an item. You’ll notice a small icon at the bottom right of the screen; clicking it lets you dissolve the item into dust.

It’s easy to miss since the button is small, but once you know where to look, it’s a quick way to recycle extra gear. This method helps clear your inventory and gives you a steady supply of Alchemical Dust when you don’t have access to an Alchemical Lab.

    3. Collect Dust on the Adventure Map

You can also find piles of Alchemical Dust scattered across the adventure map. These appear as random resource nodes, and the first hero who reaches them can collect them. Some special buildings also give Alchemical Dust to the first hero who visits each week, so make sure to send your heroes exploring frequently.

It’s rare to find large amounts this way, but every bit helps. The game is designed to make Alchemical Dust scarce, so picking up these scattered piles can make a difference over time. Exploring thoroughly and revisiting areas regularly increases your chances of finding more dust before your opponents do.

    4. Unlock the Economy Skill (Experimenter Subskill)

If you want a steadier way to get dust, level up the Economy skill. Once you hit Expert, you can unlock the Experimenter subskill, which gives you +5 Alchemical Dust every turn.

This is great if you like focusing on town building instead of hunting around the map. It’s a reliable long-term source, so you always have a bit coming in.

Since dust is limited, it’s smart to use it carefully. You’ll need it for town upgrades, spells, and artifacts, so you’ll often have to pick what to do first.

Even though it’s scarce, these tips make sure you always have some ways to get more. Keep an eye out for labs, break down extra items, and upgrade your skills whenever you can.

Managing your dust carefully will help you grow faster and make your army stronger in Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. It also lets you plan upgrades without waiting around for more dust.
