Great Taste Of Pharloom Quest is a pretty long quest that has a number of tasks that will take you quite a while to complete. The quest does entail an infamous delivery request that needs to be completed in time. In this guide, we will cover the location where you can start the quest, along with all of its delivery item requests in Hollow Knight Silksong.
How to Start the Great Taste of Pharloom Quest in Silksong
You will find the NPC named Loyal Mergwin in the Choral Chambers at the end of the restaurant, next to the lever. Use the image as a reference to get to the exact spot. If you hit the glass object, you can call on the Mergwin chef to show up. He will task you to collect specific ingredients so he can bring a dish to his master. Completing the quest will earn you a Palm Oil, needed to upgrade your weapon at the Pinmaster at Bellhart.
The ingredients you need to look after are: Mossberry Stew, Vintage Nectar, Crustnut, Pickled Muckmaggot, and Courier’s Rasher. The list will feature items that are easiest to obtain first, then we will slowly work our way to the hardest.
Finding Mossberry Stew
Head to Mosshome and talk to the Moss Druid NPC to help you make the Mossberry Stew. You will encounter Moss Druid on a side quest titled Berry Picking. Sine Moss Druid is about to make Mossberry stew; you must find Mossberries to help him with the stew.
Finding Vintage Nectar
Head to Greymoor and talk to the bartender of Halfway House and pay him 480 Rosaries to get the Vintage Nectar item. You will also have to defeat the ant warriors in his basement.
Finding Crustnut
Requirement: Clawline Ancestral Art
Head to the Sands of Karak, and you will find the Crustnut in the hidden cave inside this location. You access the Sands of Karak Azone by going through the south of the Blasted Steps Bellway. You will find the room with the Crustnut above the area with the Cartographer NPC.
Finding Pickled Muckmaggot
Pickled Muckmaggot is found in the Sinner’s Road area; however, you will need the Double Jump ability to be able to access the exact place to find this item. Once you have that, start at the place shown in the image above, and make your way upwards using double jumps. You will eventually arrive at an area with a lever at the top, jump up, which opens the next area. Defeat the Disgraced Chef Lugoli, and you collect the Pickled Muckmaggot. This is a confirmed drop item, so you will get it here for sure.
Finding Courier’s Rasher
Unlike all the previous ingredients, this one is quite different. Here, you must deliver Courier’s Rasher from Bellhart to Choral Chambers within a limited time.
First, you interact with the Notice Board at Bellhart to track down two couriers, Tipp and Pill. You must complete two Wish Requests to rescue both Tipp and Pill (One Request for each). After rescuing both, you will unlock a delivery option from the couriers. The task is to deliver the Courier’s Rasher to the restaurant at Choral Chambers. Which means, you have to go through all these places:
Bellhart > Shellwood> Blasted Steps> Grand Gate> Choral Chambers-
Here comes the difficult part: you can’t fast travel. If you get hit or bumped, the timer decreases by reducing the health of the Courier’s Rasher. Don’t worry, you can touch the water; it will not damage the item.
Note: If you do take a hit while delivering the item, just save and quit. Avoid sitting at the Bench. Don’t engage with the enemy; avoid them at all costs. If you do find an enemy blocking your path, kill them quickly, but make sure not to take any hits from them.
Completing the Courier’s Rasher part of this questline is easily the toughest and will take a long time to perform, since you have to run as fast as possible without taking a hit. Make sure to find a proper route to the restaurant to complete the delivery in time to get the quest finished in Hollow Knight Silksong. The good thing, of course, is the reward, which sets you up for another upgrade for Needle.
