Elemental Damage on a weapon not only makes the weapon look sick but also makes your weapon feel better to use. The recent patch in No Rest For The Wicked has added changes to the game, one of them happens to be the Elemental Damage on weapons in the game. Here, we are going to look at how to get this added to your weapons in No Rest For The Wicked.

    Adding Elemental Damage to Weapon

In the new update, you must use the Fallen Embers to roll for Elemental Damage on the weapon instead of the old method. Before the latest patch, you could use Gems to add Elemental Damage to your weapon. The sole purpose of gems was to add Elemental Effects. Now they increase the Elemental Damage of the weapon instead of adding the Element effect.

You can always loot Elemental Weapon from Crucible chests. There will be a greater chance of finding any Elemental Weapon from chests. After the latest patch, Elemental infusion might not be the best way to deal with your favorite weapons. Here’s why:

The patch lists Amethyst, Quartz, Ruby, and Sapphire Gem, adding Elemental Infusion to the weapon by stating “Now grants Elemental Infusion on Weapons and Bow“. However, players have reported not seeing any effect on the weapon; while some others have complained that infusing the weapon with the gems has made their weapon less effective in combat.

After the patch, if you infuse your weapon with gems, the weapon with Elemental Damage will only focus on Elemental damage. Before the patch, when you hit an enemy with an Elemental Weapon, you would deal both Elemental and Physical damage. Both coincided with each other, but after the release of the latest patch, now every attack will only leave Elemental status.

Devs have nerfed the Elemental Infusion on a weapon to work only one way. Many people will recommend not using the gem infusion, so you will not have to see your favorite weapon dealing less damage than before.

Some have reported the changes done to the Elemental infusion as a bug, the devs didn’t mention any of the changes on their official patch notes. So we might see some changes, or this could be part of the new mechanic.

Meanwhile, if you are looking to get started on the new expansion, but are not able to find the Windmill Key, check our guide here on the exact location for it.
