There’s a ton of stuff to spend upgrades on in High On Life 2, and you’ll find yourself continuously running out of Pesos to upgrade weapons and health along the way. Indeed, Pesos are quite hard to come by in the sequel, and you’ll only have a few select ways to make some easy money.
Pesos are also locked behind certain entirely optional quests, with the underground fight club and red button guy coming to mind. For the latter, it’s more of a moral dilemma, and if you’re wondering whether to press that button you’ve come to the right place.
Where To Find The NPC
To begin the quest, you’ll have to find the right NPC first. To head there, make your way to Circuit Aradia. Once you’re dropped off, pay attention and head to the Circuit Arcadia Mall, but don’t enter it just yet.
Instead, stop right in front of the circular disc-like island that holds a few palm trees. Skirt around the island till you find a rather suspicious looking purple NPC who seems to beckon you over.
Interact with him, and he will reveal that you need only press the red button in front of you to receive 500 Pesos, free of charge. The catch here is that hitting the button will cause a random person to die.
What Happens When You Don’t Press The Button
Nothing happens. You get to play out your day as usual, knowing you resisted the temptation and saved a presumably innocent soul.
What Happens When You Press The Button
You get 500 Pesos, and a panicked call from your sister. Turns out, Gene seems to have passed out and doesn’t have a pulse.
Before you start panicking too, it’s all fine, Gene doesn’t really have a heartbeat when resting. The whole exercise turns out to not have any consequences, so you can rest easy after grabbing an easy 500 Pesos.
And no, you can’t press it multiple times.
