Heartopia: How to Get the Trekking Pole

Once you unlock treasure hunts in Heartopia, you’ll be sent to search for items by Naughty. While it seems like the order is random, there’s one particular hunt that I see players struggling with more than others when it pops up in their game. It turns out that finding Naughty’s trekking pole is deceptively easy, but the instructions you receive make it feel difficult.

    Naughty’s Initial Request

This treasure hunt starts with Naughty, who’s located in Onsen, telling you that he’s missing his trekking pole, and there are two places where he believes he might’ve left it behind. The problem is that the phrasing makes it seem like you need to search those locations to find the item, which leads to a frustrating sweep of both areas that will result in nothing being found.

Also remember – this quest looks to trigger randomly, and you may have to wait before you get this story request.

    Completing the Hunt

What you actually need to do is head to Flower Fields, one of the two locations that Naughty mentioned. You can make your way there easily by selecting Vernie on your map, who’s located in Flower Fields, and selecting the option to track her, which makes the line of guiding sparkles appear to take you to her.

When you arrive at Flower Fields, don’t go searching for the pole yourself. Instead, speak with Vernie. Bring up the trekking pole, and she’ll say that it was left behind in the fields. You don’t need to actually find the item.

From here, all you do is return to Naughty and let him know that his trekking pole is with Vernie in Flower Fields, and that will successfully complete the treasure hunt. Completing this quest gets you a neat retro-desk lamp.

Then, you’ll be ready to search for whatever Naughty is seeking next in Heartopia.
