Heartopia – How to Use Seasoning

Using Seasoning in Heartopia isn’t too complicated, but a new addition to your routine can always make things feel a little overwhelming. Seasoning is a cooking amplifier that you unlock when you reach Cooking Level 6. The moment you upgrade your Cooking hobby to this level, you’ll get a quest from Massimo the Chef to try out this special new item.

Where to Buy Seasoning in Heartopia

Massimo the Chef is the only NPC in Heartopia who sells Seasoning. You can find him in the town centre, or, if you’re playing the Winter Event and it’s currently between January 31st and March 14th, 2026, he’s in the Fashionwave Event area with his own little stall.

You can buy 10x Seasoning each week using Gold (with a server reset every Saturday morning, restocking what Massimo has available). They cost 2000 gold each.

Alternatively, you can buy Seasoning for 2x Wishing Stars each. You can buy 100 of these per week, but that’s 200 Wishing Stars that you should really be saving to use elsewhere.

Seasoning can be added to any dish you’re cooking in Heartopia to ensure that it results in food that is two stars or more. When using Seasoning, every recipe it’s applied to will be a minimum of two stars, no matter what you’re making or what cooking level you are.

When you interact with any stove to cook a recipe after unlocking Seasoning at Level 6, you’ll see a new option to add Seasoning when you select a recipe. If you tap the toggle, it will turn blue, and this tells you you’re about to use Seasoning in the next recipe you cook.

You have to tap the toggle for each recipe. It might be tedious, but it stops you from using a valuable item.

The Best Way to Use Seasoning in Heartopia

While it may be tempting to use Seasoning on every recipe you cook, it’s not the cheapest ingredient, and Massimo’s stock is limited.

I wouldn’t buy Seasoning with Wishing Stars until you reach Cooking Level 10 and Gardening Level 10, so that you’re consistently working with high-quality ingredients. That way, you only need to use Seasoning to get any four- or five-star recipes you may be missing in your collection.

If you’re looking to use Seasoning between Cooking Level 6 and Cooking Level 10, consider adding it to high-value recipes like the Black Truffle Pie (worth 6640 at five stars) or Corn Soup (worth 10,720 Gold at five stars).

But any of the mushroom pie recipes are good ones to add Seasoning to. A one-star Shiitake Pie is 500 Gold, but a two-star Shiitake Pie is 1000 Gold, and the value increases from there.
