Valheim is an open-world game that will have you play as a Viking and has all the signature mechanics typical of the survival genre: base building, exploring the world to gather resources, and upgrading your character. With its great damage potential and combat adaptability, the Krom longsword is the best weapon in Valheim among all the other weapons in the game. To unlock the Krom longsword, you’ll need to gather specific materials and access a new crafting station introduced in the Mistlands update. Here’s a detailed guide on how to do it.
How To Craft The Krom Longsword
To craft the Krom longsword, collect the following resources:
- Iron * 30
- Bronze * 20
- Scale Hide * 5
After gathering all the required materials use a level 1 Black forge to craft Krom.
How To Get The Required Materials
Iron
Iron scraps can be found in Sunken Crypts located in the Swamp biome or from big weapons scattered around the Mistlands. Remember to collect the Swamp Key by defeating the Elder boss to access these crypts. Once you have collected Scrap Iron, smelt it in a Furnace to create Iron Bars.
Bronze
Bring one tin bar and two copper bars to your forge to craft one bar of bronze.
Scale Hide
To acquire Scale Hides, you will need to hunt Hares which can be found largely in the Mistlands. They can be elusive, so approach them quietly to avoid scaring them away.
Black Forge
You can craft the Black Forge by collecting the following resources:
- Black Marble * 10
- Yggdrasil Wood * 10
- Black Core * 5
Black Marble
Black Marble is only available in the Mistlands area. A black metal pickaxe can be used to dig black marble from petrified bone. Petrified bone can take many different forms, although it often resembles various sections of a massive skeleton, such as the skull or ribcage.
Yggdrasil Wood
The new Mistlands biome in Valheim is the only place where you will find Yggdrasil Wood. It drops from large Yggdrasil Shoots. You may cut down Yggdrasil Shoots to make Yggdrasil Wood and wood. However in order to bring down the tree, you will need to use the Blackmetal Axe or a higher level axe.
Black Core
Look for Black Cores in the Mistlands dungeons. Specifically, explore the Infested Mines located beneath the Black Marble structures. infested mines are generally guarded by seekers.
Krom Longsword: Is It Worth It?
In Valheim, the Krom longsword is a two-handed weapon that stands out for its remarkable stats and powers. The following are the Krom longsword’s key statistics:
- Base Damage: 150 Slash damage
- Block Armor: 52
- Block Force: 50
The strongest weapon in Valheim is the Krom longsword, which has a knockback of 55 and an amazing 150 slash damage, making it perfect for taking down several enemies. Its slow swing speed and two-handed design prevent you from using a shield while using it, and its slow swing speed require careful timing and stamina management. For its special move, Krom has a stab attack that’s swift and far-reaching. It works well against adversaries like Fulings, who have a tendency to run around during battle. That being said, it is less effective against Mistland Seekers due to its lack of elemental damage.
