How to Retrieve a Soldier Ant Egg from the Hatchery Anthill in Grounded 2

For the quest Egg Hunt, you are tasked with retrieving a soldier ant egg to be placed inside your new Hatchery. The only problem is, you need to venture out into dangerous territory to retrieve it. If you are not prepared for the unknown, things will go downhill rather quickly.

Head over to Snackbar Front and make your way east, just outside the food truck here. You will spot the quest marker for the Hatchery Anthill: South Entrance location. Be prepared to run as fast as possible, since the anthill is filled with, well, red ants. On higher difficulties, defeating the ants is futile, so carry along a shield and plenty of medicines to protect yourself. Once inside, you need to navigate the ant hill maze to get to the hatchery.

Keep to your right from the entrance and pass through all the tunnels on the right side. You will reach an area with several consoles and terminals. From there, head left and follow the length of the cable on the ground. This will lead you to another area where you will spot more terminals and consoles. Continue left from there and enter the doorway on your left. You will be inside the ant hatchery, and you will spot an ant egg floating in the middle.

    Collect the Ant Egg

You can’t pick up this egg here; rather, exit out the back entrance and go a bit further. There are several eggs lying around. Pick one up and backtrack the same way to exit the cave. If you get attacked by the ants along the way, you end up dropping the egg.

Plus, only one egg is allowed at a time, so you would have to make several trips back and forth to collect all the eggs. You also cannot equip a weapon while holding the egg, making the trip back to base even more of a challenge. But once done, you get to tick this objective off your list as well.
