While choices in Dying Light: The Beast do not result in lasting impact or consequences, one option may be more advantageous depending on your preferences. In the Precious Cargo side quest, you are prompted to make a decision at the end: either hand over one crate to the Ringleader or refuse the deal. This guide outlines the outcomes of each option in Dying Light: The Beast.

Precious Cargo Side Quest: Give A Crate or Not Choice Guide

It is best to agree to the deal and hand over an ammo crate than refuse. This makes sense story-wise as well, since the Ringleader did help Kyle earlier, plus you get a unique collectible and extra resources as well if you pick this choice. Outside of the quest, this decision does not impact anything else in the game, so pick any option depending on what you feel is the right thing.

At the end of the quest, regardless of what option you pick, you end up getting +7500 XP, 2x Basic Manual Pages, and a co-op Lootbox if playing co-op mode.

You might end up with half your cargo intact if you agree to the 50/50 split, but the Ringleader doesn’t leave you empty-handed. In return, you receive several Med-Kits as a token of appreciation, as well as an Old Rock Hits mixtape. Losing half your goods is a small price to pay for the free Med Kits you receive, plus ammo is found in abundance during exploration, so it’s not a total loss for you.

    Refuse the Deal

Refusing the deal results in the Ringleader stealing everything from the container and trapping you inside. New objectives will prompt you to locate the missing loot crate and confront the Ringleader and his group to recover your items. This leads to extended gameplay involving additional combat. Ultimately, you retrieve all your cargo, but receive no additional loot besides the ammo that was promised.

Dying Light: The Beast does offer more choices to make as you make progress through the main and side quests, so check out some of our choice guides like Take the Bribe or Kill the Scientist or Let Selby Kill Lucy or Save Her to know what would be the best pick.
