In the Chain Reaction side quest in Dying Light: The Beast, there will come a point where a decision will be asked of you – should you let Selby exact revenge for what was done to her, or should you step in and save Lucy? If you are wondering what could be the potential consequences for the quest (and the rewards), we have got you covered here.
Chain Reaction: Let Selby Kill Lucy or Save Her?

The decision does not matter except for role-playing purposes. I saved Lucy the first time before reloading an earlier save, and this time I let Selby go ahead and get her revenge. In both cases, the quest got completed with the same rewards: 2 Legendary Manual pages and 10,000 XP. The post quest completion dialog with Selby changes a little in both cases; that is about the only difference.
Whatever decision you choose to take will be the last step in the Chain Reaction quest, allowing you to then proceed to explore the world, either collecting Legendary weapons or trying to work out codes and unlock safes in Dying Light: The Beast.
Chain Reaction Side Quest In Dying Light: The Beast
You pick up the Chain Reaction side quest when Selby speaks to you about a possible transfer of chemical compounds by the Baron’s Guards at a camping park north-west of your current location. It is best to reach the location in a car. Once you arrive there, the quest objective changes to eliminate the infected and then speak to the trapped survivor, who happens to be Lucy. She then asks you to go to the Supply Outpost and get rations and supplies, and it is here, when you arrive, that you find yourself in the situation with the choices as we detailed above.
There is a similar side quest where you get to make a decision, whether to take the bribe or kill the scientist as part of the Hunting Yaga side quest, and you can check the guide to see what difference either decision makes.
