The First Trial of AQL in Dune Awakening has quite a lot of traps that you will need to properly navigate to make it the safe zone. Here, in this guide, we will give you a complete walkthrough of how to go about completing this in the game.
Dune Awakening: First Trial of AQL Location
- Head to Hagga Basin South, the first objective in the Trial of AQL will be on the west side of the map. We need to go to an area titled Mihna Cavern. The objective will list it as Follow your inner sight to the first trial. From Hagga Basin South, march west of the zone, and you will soon reach Wreck of the Alcyon. Now head southwest of Wreck of the Alcyon until you reach the proper spot.
- Once you reach the spot, the entrance to Mihna Cavern will be located on top of the rock. So, look around it until you find the slope that leads to the top. On your way to the Mihna Cavern, you will soon spot a bonfire on the edge, by the steel grate. Continue moving upward, and soon you will reach the entrance to Mihna Cavern.
- Get inside the Mihna Cavern, follow the route, and then turn left, take the staircase to the bottom floor. Once you make it to the spot, the objective will clear out. Enter the Ancient Cave. Now our objective is to interact with the altar, then complete the first trial.
- Just head inside the room, and at the end you will find the spice on an altar. Interact with it to start the first Trial of AQL.
How To Complete the First Trial of AQL
Once you are in the new area, take the stairs down and follow the linear route to encounter the first hurdle of the trial.
First Eye Challenge:
- The first one is quite simple, you will be observed by a giant eye. Take cover, and only move to the next cover when the giant eye is closed. The giant eye stays shut for a good 5 seconds, giving you enough time to move to another spot within that time frame.
Note: The color coming out of the eyes will be yellowish, but if it detects you, it will turn red. So if you find yourself in the red zone, flee to cover for the eye to turn to the safe color.
Second Eye Challenge:
- After completing the first eye challenge, you will encounter another giant eye on your right. But here we find ourselves with no cover to hide ourselves from, since it is located on our right, we must cross the hallway to get to the other side. Unlike the first giant eye we encountered, this one doesn’t close, so we have to move with caution.
- Now you just need to crouch and stick to the wall underneath the pillars to safely make it across. As long as you stick to the wall and stay crouched, you will easily make it to the other end of the hallway.
Third and Fourth Eye Challenge:
- Follow the route, and you will find yourself in another area, dealing with another giant light, but now it is far away on our left. Here, take cover behind the pillars to move forward. Luckily, the giant eye shares the same weakness as the first one; it closes for 5 seconds, giving you enough time to get to the hiding spot.
- Continue moving along the path until you encounter the fourth giant eye. This one is at the top, looking down at us. This giant eye doesn’t close, but it moves from left to right. Once the eye is gazing to the right, which means in our direction, don’t worry, we will be safe under the rock. It’s time to move forward.
Fifth and Final Eye Challenge:
- Then turn right, and you will encounter another giant eye looking down. Here, you must walk across the pillar to get to the platform ahead. But you must move when the light is focused on the other side. After making it to the platform ahead, stay underneath the archway until the giant eye’s light has moved behind you.
Note: Here you need to move while the light from the eye is behind you, don’t move when it’s pointing in front of you. Or you will be caught red-handed.
- Now it’s your time to cross the second pillar to get to the safe zone. Now turn left to face the final giant eye. In this area, you must seek cover to cover while crouching. Move when the giant eye closes and stop behind the pillar when the eye is opened. Our goal here is to move towards the eye, where you will find a staircase on the right of the eye.
Once you make it to the stairs on the right of the eye, keep moving forward, and you will complete the first Trial of AQL. You will unlock new schematics after completing it. The game will also inform you about the Moisture Sealed Cave, which you will encounter in the Second Trial of AQL.
