Dune Awakening has, as part of the Second Trial of AQL, puzzles that you must solve with a unique tool found in the area. The trial also covers plenty of lore of the game, so if you are having trouble pinpointing the second Trial of AQL location, fear not, we have a simple guide to help you get to the location and the steps to complete the second trial as quickly as possible.

Dune Awakening: Second Trial of AQL Location

Map Eastern Vermillus Gap Dune Awakening
    • Head to the Eastern Vermillius Gap, and make your way to the Deep Struggle, south of the Eastern Vermillius Gap region. Take the stairs, follow the route, and you will be on your way to the Deep Struggle. But the route to the cave will be blocked by a fabric wall. Just hit it a few times to tear it open.
    • Once you make it inside, loot everything in the room. You will find a chest next to the bags and a gun on the rock, on your left. After looting everything, get through the narrow hole on the left of the room.
    • Follow the linear route until you reach a dead end. We must now make our way down to the floor at the bottom. Here, carefully drop down the hole, since your character takes fall damage, make sure to jump on the small platforms to soften the blow. After you have reached the bottom, you will drop down another hole, but this one is quite short, so jump down and start heading downstairs.

Congratulations, now we have reached the Second Altar location. The objective will then switch to interact with the altar, and then start the second Trial of AQL.

How To Complete The Second Trial of AQL

    Static Compactor Tool Dune Awakening
    • Walk up to the altar and inhale the spice to kick off the second Trial of AQL. A small cutscene will play out of your character inhaling the spice. After a brief loading screen, you will be in a brand new world.
    • Head downstairs, follow the linear route, and Sadus will start talking about the deep lore of the game. After a while, you will find the tool called Static Compactor floating on the rocks. Interact with the weapon to grab it.
    • Now, with the use of the Static Compactor, we will complete the hurdles of the second trial. Follow the linear route, and you will find fire patches blocking your route. Here, use your Static Compactor and aim it at the fire patches on the ground to extinguish them.
    • When your aim is lined up correctly with the fire patches, it will turn green – that is your cue to fire the tool.
    • Climb up the staircase and follow the linear route until you reach the route that is blocked by the massive pile of sand. Here, pull out the Static Compactor and aim at the sand barricade to destroy it. Once distorted, keep moving forward until you reach a room filled with toxic green smoke in the air.
    • Here, look down and use your Static Compactor on the small objects on the ground to get rid of the green gas and to clear your way inside. Once cleared, head to the second floor, and you will also deal with more of the gas problems. Again, use your Static Compactor to remove them. Once the area is cleared, make it to the end of the room and jump down to the floating floor below.

Note: If you do fail to remove a single gas, you will be sent back to the starting location, where you encountered the first green smoke. Before moving forward, make sure to clear it well with the Static Compactor.

    • Now turn right until you reach the dead end, but if you look at the surface, you will see a vacuum floating in the air. Here, use your Static Compactor on the vacuum to create a platform of stones to make it to the other side.
    • Once you reach the platform, do the same thing again to the vacuum in the air to reach the final stage. Now, a cutscene will trigger, completing the second Trial of AQL.

Reward: Flour Sand, it will help you make Silicone Blocks!
