The third island in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined that you’re likely to find is Regenstein, a small isle needing only one fragment to access. Getting to that fragment can be a bit of a doozie if you don’t know where to look, which is where this guide comes in.
Let’s find the path to Regenstein and go over exactly what to do on this strange, all but silent isle.
Finding the Grey Fragment

The Grey Fragment can be found in the same spot as the scale shield in Emberdale’s past. To reach that basement level, enter Burnmont and head through the southern entrance. Continue past the statue, down the staircase, and further down the second staircase in the bottom right corner of floor 5.
This will set you on a track, fighting monsters and descending staircases until you reach the basement level. Here, you’ll find the Grey Fragment, and can Zoom back to the Shrine of Mysteries.
Before you leave, consider retracing the original route down Burnmont, as various chests have been refilled with new items. Stick to the south to find an exposed cliff face with a Little Devil Heart inside.

Regenstein

Regenstein itself is a simple landmass, with a few monsters and a single village to its northernmost end. The village seems barren, but trek over the damaging purple ground to meet an old man who will ask for your help.
After a few cutscenes of background on Regenstein, you’ll be sent to spend a night in the local Inn, located to the left of the water deity statue at the entrance of the village. You don’t need to worry about the cost, and you will wake up to another cutscene explaining the next steps.
The old man needs you to view the village from the high ground with him, but you’ll need to find the path. In the southwestern corner of the village, a small marker will show the area to search.

To the left of the mark is a small patch of dirt that looks like it’s been moved recently. Interact with it to descend below the town, into hidden passages that span its whole length. Once you make it to basement floor 3, follow the northern path for a chest.
Head back down the southern path to find the Old Man again, after climbing a ladder. As you overlook the villagers, you’ll notice a boy freed from the stoney fate of the other townsfolk. Hop off the high ground to meet up with both the boy and the old man again to clear Regenstein, adding another island to the modern world.

Regenstein’s equivalent island is incredibly important for progression, so make sure to visit once you head back to Estard. Without anything else to find, head back at your earliest convenience to continue the quest!
