Dispatch – I’m Robert, or I’m Mecha Man?

The final decision of Episode 5 will be another major decision that has consequences in future episodes. The game forces you to either reveal your identity to your teammates or keep it secret. As you would have guessed, this will have a good number of problems and unique opportunities as well in the future episodes. Here is a guide to look at both options and pick the best choice for this decision for the Dispatch Chapter 5.

What happens if you choose I’m Robert

A perfect choice for anyone who is playing a more skeptical role in the game. If you don’t trust the teammates and you don’t want to make Flambae mad, then this option is perfect. Since the beginning of Episode 5, we see Mecha Man cutting off two fingers of Flambae. When you decide to tell the team that you are Robert, none of them will get mad, including Flambae.

After the scene, everyone will reveal their real names, including Flambae.

    Consequences

While the game does not show the consequences of taking up this choice in Episode 6, I get a strong feeling that the developers will reveal the true impact across Episodes 7 and 8. You have, in a way, lied to the team, who are not going to be too happy about it (if and) when the truth gets revealed, especially Flambae. You will unlock the achievement ‘I’m the guy behind the desk’.

What happens if you choose I’m Mecha Man

If you are trusting your teammates, then you pick I’m Mecha Man. Revealing your identity will have consequences, as Flambae will immediately get mad and start blasting fire in your direction. Luckily, Golem will protect you from the fire. The reveal will only make Flambae mad, as he will fly off to the night sky.

After the scene, the rest of the Z-Team will reveal their names, leading to greater transparency and trust between Robert and the Z-Team. This one is a good choice compared to the last one.

    Consequences

Since Flambae flies off, Robert never learns the real name of Flambae. Choosing that you are Mecha Man means that in the Dispatch call, Melt the Ice, or Break the Ice in Chapter 6, you will not have Flambae, and hence not be able to select the first option. You will unlock the achievement ‘That’s like, a real superhero’.

I recommend that you go with ultimate transparency and choose I’m Mecha Man for the answer. This is going to make Flambae immediately mad, but it is a small price to pay compared to hiding the identity in the moment where everyone is getting comfortable revealing their names.
