Dinkum’s 1.0 update brings in tons of unique features that makes the gameplay experience all the more immersive. One of the features added to the game is the introduction of renting out guest houses for extra income. Guest houses have always been around, but there wasn’t a use for it until now. To start renting out guest houses, you need to prepare a couple of things first. This guide will explain how to rent out guest houses in Dinkum 1.0.
How To Get Guest Houses in Dinkum

If you don’t have a Guest House yet, you can purchase the Guest House deed from Fletch after upgrading your tent into a house. After that, you will require some materials to build it. The following materials are required to build your guest house.
- 20x Gum Wood Plank
- 20x Palm Wood Plank
- 4x Tin Sheet
- 19x Nails
Place your Guest House within your required area, then wait overnight for it to be built. You can place as many guest houses as you wish, and you can even upgrade guest houses by purchasing another deed from Fletch called Guest House Upgrade – Two. Upgrading guest houses will provide more space, and you will require the following materials to expand it.
- 15x Gum Wood Plank
- 15x Palm Wood Plank
- 15x HardWood Plank
- 5x Copper Bar
- 3x Tin Sheet
- 16x Nails
How To Rent A Guest House In Dinkum 1.0

To rent out a guest house, you need to purchase the Rental Sign from John’s Goods store. The goods inside John’s store appear in rotation, so you might not find the Rental Sign item right away. Visit his store frequently and keep checking his inventory to find it. The cost of the Rental Sign will vary, depending on the number of licenses you own. But the base starting price for the Rental Sign will start at 50,000 Dinks.
Next, before you rent out your guest house, make sure that you furnish it. The more furniture and decorations you place inside, the more income you can get. After that, head outside the guest house you wish to give to rent, then take out your Rental Sign and place it to the right side of the front door. You will receive a pop up asking if you wish to put the guest house on rent. Select the Yes option and wait for a day for someone to move in.
How to Collect Rent

Rent gets collected every Wednesday, and to pick up rent, head over to the Guest House that is occupied. Instead of the Rental sign beside the door, you will notice a crate. Interact with the crate to collect your payment. Rent gets accumulated overtime, so you don’t have to visit every week to collect it. Even if you forget a few weeks, it will be stored within the crate, so you can visit any time to collect payment.
