There are a couple of puzzles to solve as you venture deeper into the new Edge of Fate questline in Destiny 2. There are subquests to pick up, and in one of them, you have to rescue a team of scientists hidden away in the Aionian Campus’ Laboratory. Within this area is a puzzle to solve that will reveal a unique reward. This guide will explain how to solve the puzzle in Destiny 2.

During the Edge of Fate main quest, you will be tasked with exploring two different locations to obtain strangelet capsules and return them to the Altar of Relativity. One of the two locations you need to explore is the Central Academy for the Central Academy Strangelet quest.

Over here, you need to rescue the scientists within the Aionian Campus Laboratory before you can obtain the Accelaron. After that, you can spend your time trying to figure out the solution to the unique beam puzzle within this room. Here is a step by step guide on solving the puzzle.

    • When you first enter the room where you freed the scientists, head left and look up to find the first rotating device. The devices that can be moved will be highlighted in yellow.
    • Shoot it once to turn it to the front.
    • Walk over to the other side, towards the direction the laser from the first device is pointing at.
    • Shoot the second device on top three times, it should face ahead.
    • Go directly to the place where the laser from the second device is pointing at and shoot the third device overhead twice.
    • Jump down into the ditch and enter the opening on the wall. On the left of the entrance is a Relocator you can pick up.

    • Using the Relocator, shoot the device beside the first device near the entrance. This device is static and won’t have a yellow glow.
    • Wait till the beam has passed through all the devices.
    • Jump up and find a doorway that is barred with red beams. You will find a portal within it that you can shoot using your Relocator.
    • Jump down again to find the Relocator portal and hop into it to be teleported into one of the barred rooms.

    • If you take a look outside, you will spot one of the rotating devices above.
    • Pick up a second Relocator within this room and shoot the device three times.
    • Step into the portal beside the place where you picked up the Relocator to be taken to a secret area.
    • Collect a Fated Cipher and Timelost Spirit Bloom within this room, thus completing the mystery.
    • Interact with the terminal next to the doorway to disable the laser grid and exit the room.
