In Deltarune, you have to be at your best to get the top rank when it comes to battles and solving puzzles. Getting an S-Rank throughout your gameplay is the only way to get access to the level’s bosses. But, the game also throws a curveball at you, as there is a secret room in Chapter 3 that you can get access to only if you score a Z-Rank! This guide will explain how to do that in Deltarune.
Deltarune Chapter 3 Z-Rank Score & Secret Boss Alternate Entrance
Here is how you should plan if you want to get a Z-Rank in Chapter 3 of Deltarune:
- First off, don’t ace all your battles and try to take 8 turns or higher. But, keep an eye on your TP meter, and try not to get it over 70%
- Don’t worry about taking hits in battle, as this will help you aim for Z-Rank.
- Your next task would be to play at Tenna’s game show. Get all the answers wrong for this one.
- Tenna will then show you the door to the physical challenge. Head there instead of picking up the bonus key.
- During the cooking challenge, play badly and get zero stars. Try not to die in the process, but do get some hits so your score will get lower.
- Also, do not to stay idle during the cooking game, as Tenna will make you redo the whole segment if your score is too low. Aim for a score just low enough by doing the bare minimum.
- Once that is completed and you get your final score, watch the rest of the cutscene till you are led down the path towards the Z-Rank door.
- Enter the door, then jump down the manhole to gain access to a secret room. You can explore the rest of the area and follow through with the same plotline as an S-Ranking player now.
In short, even if you play badly, you can still access the secret boss area and also claim the Shadow Mantle in Deltarune as you normally would.
