Counter-Strike 2 runs on a different and much improved engine than CS-GO; and thus asks more from a PC to be able to play the game. However, the game can still run decently well on most PCs as the specs especially compared to a lot of AAA games requirements are much less. If you want to check if your system can boot up and play Counter-Strike 2, we have put up the full guide on Recommended & Minimum Specs for Counter-Strike 2.
Minimum System Requirements To Run Counter-Strike 2
Operating System | Windows 10 |
Processor | quad core Intel Core i5 750 |
RAM | 8 GB |
GPU | DirectX11 compatible, with Shader Model 5.0 support, atleast 1 GB memory |
Storage | 86 GB |
As is apparent, these are pretty standard specs for most gaming PCs or laptops, and the probability is that if you have purchased one recently, it would easily meet these specs. In case you have an existing PC that you want to check, you can try out games like Half-Life Alyx – if they run well, most likely you shouldn’t be having any issues on running CS2
CS2 Recommended System Requirements
While CS2 does not put out a recommended system requirement, this is what we think would work best to get those shots going smoothly
Operating System | Windows 12 |
Processor | Intel Core i5 – 7500 or equivalent |
Memory | 12 GB |
Graphics | GTX 1060 or RX 580 |
Storage | 86 GB |
Along with the above, playing the game on a monitor that has a high refresh rate can make a big difference to gameplay experience, we recommend taking one that comes as close to 144 Hz or higher. The other tip is to play around with the graphic settings like texture quality, shaders etc. in the game and find the best balance between visuals and gameplay
