Code Vein 2 – Resurgence Abomination Boss Guide

Depending on where you go after speaking with Valentin in the MagMell research building, Resurgence Abomination will be either the first or second boss you face in Code Vein 2. If you go to the Southern Ruins, you’ll face Edward the Lost Corporal first. But if you go to the Water Treatment Plant first, then Resurgence Abomination will be the boss you start with.

    Finding Resurgence Abomination

Resurgence Abomination is in the Water Treatment Plant, which is on the western side of MagMell Island. If you go there first and speak to the builder outside, he’ll tell you that he needs a Forma from inside the plant. Naturally, that Forma is in the hands of the boss.

Thankfully, the inside of the Water Treatment Plant is small, so you have one actual path to take, and it leads you right to the boss room. Make sure you attune to the stone outside the fog wall, as that lets you respawn there instead of outside the plant, which would force you to keep going all the way through the area again.

    Fighting Resurgence Abomination

Resurgence Abomination only has a handful of attacks that you have to watch out for, but he’s faster than Edward, so you’ll have to be on top of dodging.

The most common attacks you’ll face are his sword combos and sword charge. The combos have Resurgence Abomination strike three or four times. He likes to do swing attacks during these, so you want to dodge backwards, putting distance between you and him.

For the sword charge, Resurgence Abomination will lift his sword so the hilt is at his right shoulder and the tip is pointing at you. Once he starts charging in the direction of the sword’s tip, he’s locked into that path. Therefore, you want to dodge to the side and get some attacks of your own in while he’s stuck in his path.

The other two attacks you’ll face are ranged attacks that Resurgence Abomination pulls out when you’re out of his melee range. The first one is a slash when his sword has a red glow. This sends out a red slash across the room in the direction he swings, so you want to dodge it by going to the side.

Then, he has another red-charged attack. For this one, Resurgence Abomination’s sword glows red again, but he hits the ground to cause an AoE of damage in a cone in front of him. To dodge this, you want to get behind him, or move close to one of his sides where you should be just out of the area of effect.

    Getting a Special Drain

Like most enemies, Resurgence Abomination has gold lines that turn red as he’s hit. When all the gold is replaced by red, you can use your Jail Drain Attack to get a special effect, which you know it succeeded if you get a small cutscene when you use the drain. Not only does this deal a good chunk of damage, but it also gives you the Hungry Hungry Hunter achievement if you haven’t already gotten it.

With that, you should be set to win against Resurgence Abomination, especially if you picked up the pre-order weapon bonus to use against him in Code Vein 2.
