Code Vein 2: How to Get the Forma Storage Tower Key

Code Vein II is a significantly larger game than the original, featuring a vast open-world map for players to explore. Throughout exploration, you’ll encounter side quests, interesting characters, locked doors, and hidden areas that have valuable goodies inside.

Early on in your playthrough of Code Vein 2, you will encounter the Forma Storage Tower, a large building that requires a key. Noah will mention right off the bat that the key is nearby, but unfortunately, it’s harder to find than the game hints at.

As it turns out, the key is in an entirely different spot than the tower. If you’re having trouble finding this elusive key, this guide has you covered. Here’s how to get the Forma Storage Tower Key in Code Vein 2.

While Noah mentions that the Forma Storage Tower Key is nearby when encountering the locked door, it’s actually not. Acquiring the Forma Storage Tower Key is tied to the main story, meaning you’ll have to progress a bit before it becomes available.

Before you can find the Forma Storage Tower Key in Code Vein 2, you must speak to Valentin at MagMell. Valentin will ask for your help and asks you to visit two locations on your map and acquire the Formae within those areas.

Keep in mind that the game marks these locations on your map, meaning you don’t have to find them yourself. The two marked locations are The Ruins and the Water Treatment Plant, and if you’re having trouble noticing the waypoint in your game, we have a map below showing the two locations indicated by red arrows.

You can visit these locations in any order that you want, but I recommend going to The Ruins first since the main boss of that area is much easier than the Water Treatment Plant. Remember, you can fast travel to Mistles near these locations to get there faster.

However, before making your way to these locations, I recommend purchasing the best available equipment from the vendors at MagMell. It would also be smart to upgrade your character as much as possible to prepare for the boss fights ahead.

Once you visit and complete each location, which requires defeating the main boss at the end of the dungeons, return to Valentin at MagMell and speak to him. He can be found sitting at one of the large desks in the main room of MagMell.

After speaking to Valentin and watching a short dialogue cutscene, his quest will conclude. As a reward for completing his task, he will hand over the Forma Storage Tower Key.

With the Forma Storage Tower Key in your possession, it’s time to return to the tower and use it. Once inside the tower, make your way to the top level near the elevator, but don’t take the elevator up just yet. Instead, go down the hallway to find a glowing yellow item on the shelf.

Grab this yellow item to acquire Lou’s ability to time-travel again, the Patho’s-Weaving Forma. This not only progresses the main story but also allows you to switch between time periods, which is crucial for completing side quests and acquiring certain items that can only be found in the future or past.

Throughout your playthrough, you may encounter glowing yellow orbs that you can interact with. These are time portals of some sort, and interacting with them will allow you to travel to the past. On the other hand, if the portal is blue, you will be able to interact with it and travel to the future.
