Dying Light: The Beast has many side quests that require not only to fend off zombies but also to look for items in the middle of it. Things will get extra dangerous when you are searching for an item in a room filled with nothing but zombies that would love to chew your neck. In one of the first side quests, Hydro Puzzle, you will get to the Waterworks Facility to find the Chief Engineer’s Room. What Is The Safe Code for the Hydro Puzzle Side Quest In Dying Light: The Beast?
The safe combination to get the Chief Engineer’s key is 27-01-15.
- Quest Giver: Pietro
- Prerequisite Quest: The Cable Guy Quest from Pietro
- Objective: Repairing the Town Hall’s Water Supply.
Follow the side quest marker to get to the Pumping Station. Just like many buildings in the area, it will be swarming with zombies. Here you can either kill them or pass them and enter the Pumping station from the inside on its back.
Heading to Pumping Station
When you get inside the Pumping Station, things will stay the same; it will also be swarming with zombies. The next task is to check the pressure on the water pump. Here, the objectives change to Waterworks Repair Facility; we must get the facility to recover the Chief Engineer’s Schematics.
- Get to the Waterworks Repair Facility, and you will find a ladder on the left side of the building. Climb on the ladder to get to the roof of the facility.
- Once you are on the rooftops, you can easily get inside via the open vent. The key that unlocks the door to the Chief Engineer’s room can be found on the upper level. The Chief Engineer’s Room is located on the bottom floor.
- You will find the Key next to the computer at the upper level inside the Payroll Manager’s Room. The key will be stored inside the safe. Use the safe combination: “27-01-15 ” to unlock it. The code is located in the room next to it, and you will need to use the lockpick to unlock the door. Besides the code, you will also find a zombie inside, so be careful. You will find the Chief Engineer’s Room Key and a Wristwatch item.
Getting to Sewer Maintenance Point
In the Chief Engineer’s Room, you will get the schematics of the water pressure map. The next objective is set in the Sewer Maintenance Point in the Old Town. The entrance to the building will be locked, so carry a lockpick with you to get past the first barrier. Unlock the door to the Sewer Maintenance Point using a Lockpick (Easy Difficulty) to get inside.
Now interact with the water pressure meter in the front, next to the yellow pipe. Soon you will hear a noise in the pipe, here Crane will take out the grate from the ground. Now you can drop down and follow the yellow pipe to find the origin of the noise.
Following the Yellow Pipe
When you are following the yellow pipe, you will encounter zombies and a boomer that explodes. So always be on your guard when you are trailing the sound on the pipe.
Point of Interest: When you get attacked by the boomer, if you look to your right, you will find a locked door with a couple of wooden boxes on its right. Break the boxes to reveal a vent that you can use to go inside the room and find a safe. Enter the code 21-69-35 to unlock the safe and unlock the door from inside.
Now, follow the yellow pipe, and it will take you to the maintenance room. Here, the objective will change to find the source of the strange sound. If you follow the sound, you will reach an area where you must defend the survivors from the zombies. Use guns and grenades to flush out the zombies for the survivor to start talking. Here you will see Crane talking to Damian, who is hiding his family behind the door.
Now the mission is to escort the Damians’ family out of the plant to the world outside. Just follow the objective marker, and it will lead you outside.
