Cairn is a climbing game first and foremost, but alongside that, it’s a survival game where your thirst, hunger and temperature meters matter just as much as your grip.Â
However, aside from a few protein bars, chocolate bars and some pills, you’ll need to fill your bag with resources that you find on the mountain, which means cooking like a mad scientist when you’re up in the clouds.
Some recipes are better than others, but few recipes can compete with the potency of the Ultimate Infusion. However, it’s a little unclear how to actually craft one of these concoctions.

How To Make An Ultimate Infusion
An Ultimate Infusion in Cairn is a combination of a Strong Infusion and one of the many plants on the mountain. Plants such as Gentian, Juniper, Nettles, or Thistle.
You can create a strong infusion, or you can find various pre-made mixes on the mountain. To make a Strong Infusion, you simply need to take a basic infusion created by combining clear water and one of the aforementioned plants, and then combine another plant with this basic infusion.
You won’t find many Strong Infusions throughout your journey, and a lot of them will be found well over halfway through your journey. For example, the first one I naturally encountered was in the same cave where you find the psychedelic frog.
What Does The Ultimate Infusion Do?
To put it simply, the Ultimate Infusion in Cairn is basically a cheat code. At least, for a short period of time. As this consumable will give you five minutes of increased grip, stamina and speed, making you a climbing goddess.
Sure, gravity can still get the better of you, but you’ll have a lot more chance of hanging in there.
Additionally, the infusion will also grant you a boost of 50+ health, 20+ thirst, and 40+ temperature. So, in short, it’s an all-rounder that can bring you back from the brink.
