How to Prepare for Kang-Jin Loong Boss Fight in Black Myth Wukong
Since Kang-Jin Loong is a flying dragon, she will spend the majority of his time in the air where you cannot hit her. This makes a lot of skills and spells useless for this boss fight except for one very crucial spell for this boss fight; Immobilize.
Upgrade your Immobilize Spell
Apart from the Cloud-step that you get for defeating Black Wind King, the Immobilize spell is the only other viable spell you can use in this boss fight. Other spells like the Red Tides transformation are not worth it because you only get small windows to hit Kang-Jin Loong.
The mana used for the Red Tides spell would be wasted, instead, you should use most of your mana to use Immobilize multiple times. So make sure you use your accumulated Spark points to upgrade Immobilize as much as possible. You can also try to increase your stamina as you need to sprint a lot during this fight to cover the distance.
Get the Wild Tamer Vessel
The Wild Tamer Vessel, when used at the correct time in the Kang-Jin Loong boss fight, can knock her down for a short time which can give you a much-needed opening to get some huge burst damage in. You can obtain the Wild Tamer Vessel by defeating Fuban, a secret boss fight in Chapter 2 which can be accessed by first completing the Man-in-Stone quest and then doing the Yellow-Robed Squire’s quest.
How To Defeat Kang-Jin Loong in Black Myth Wukong
Kang-Jin Loong is one of the more annoying bosses in Black Myth Wukong since it’s a flying enemy that doesn’t allow you to get hits in unless she chooses to attack and come closer to the ground. But with a few neat tricks and the use of Immobilize, you can get through this fight in no time.
Your main tactic here to get the most amount of damage will be using the Immobilize spell but you have to use it when her head is near the ground and when you are not far from her. This is the toughest part to master with this fight but once you get the timing right, you can get those massive charged focus point attacks on the head to get a lot of damage in.
Other than that, you can get another opening to get a lot of damage in when she does the tail slam attack. Dodging this attack ensures that the tail stays there for a short duration which allows you to do some quick damage, you can also use your Withering Wight attack here if you didn’t already during Immobilize was active.
If you aren’t using the Wild Tamer Vessel, you can also use Fire Proof Mantle not for its fire resistance but instead for its passive focus point generation which will allow you to accumulate focus points as you wait for the right opportunity to strike those heavy attacks. This can be very helpful accumulating focus is tough for this boss fight.
At this point, you will likely Stagger her which makes her angrier, and use new attacks from this point on. One of these attacks is a long-range fire-breathing attack that can be dodged with perfect timing. She will also do a different longer-range version of it from high up in the air which can be avoided by simply running towards her and being close to her so that it doesn’t hit you.
Timing is the key to this boss fight. Mechanically, the attacks Kang-Jin Loong does are easy to read as most moves are initiated by a little twirl in the air which can indicate a rush attack is coming but simply dodging these won’t win you this fight. Save your heavy attacks and spells and ONLY use them at the right time as missing those is really punishing for this boss fight.
