Black Myth Wukong is turning into a pretty involving action RPG with satisfying combat, a lot of gameplay mechanics that help give abilities suited to your playstyle – and a surprising number of secret areas with bosses and rewards to discover. One, or two such areas that you may have passed without giving much thought are the waterfall in chapter 1 and the sandfall in chapter 2 – there is a way to reach behind them, and in this guide, we have put up all the details on how to access and defeat the secret waterfall boss in chapter 1 and the sandfall boss in chapter 2.
How To Get The Loong Scales In Black Myth Wukong
You need to collect an item called Loong Scales for you to access the secret Loong Dragon Bosses in chapters 1 and 2. The Loong Scales are not the easiest of items to collect – you need to follow these steps to get your hands on this item:
- Fight the King of Flowing Sands and the Second Prince of Flowing Sands to get the Pungent Flesh Chunk in the Sandgate Village area. In case you defeated the Prince first, you will not get this item, which is ok.
- Enter the caves on the left of this area till you come to an open area below you. Jump down, and you will come to a wall that has a small portion of it looking slightly different than the rest.
- Use the Pungent Flesh Chunk to call on the First Prince of Flowing Sands, position yourself in front of that portion of the wall, get the boss to do its lunge attack, and dodge at the right time to break open that part of the wall. If in the first boss fight, you defeated the Second Prince first before defeating the King; the First Prince will appear automatically.
- The easier thing is to use the Wandering Wight spirit and ram your head into the wall and break it open.
- Either way, that part of the wall will now have a prompt to Get In when you approach it.
- Enter the area and you will see a chest to your left. Open it to get the Loong Scales.
Black Myth Wukong Chapter 1 Secret Waterfall Area Boss: Location & Rewards
Start from the Outside the Forest Keeper’s Shrine in Chapter 1, take a left, and follow the path. As you approach a pillar, take a left and you will see the waterfall in the distance. Make your way towards it and this time, with the Loong Scales in your inventory, there will be a prompt in front of the waterfall to ‘Examine’. Once you do that, the waterfall disappears and you can approach the area behind it to unlock the Secret Boss fight with Red Loong. The boss does significant shock damage with its tail swipes, claw attacks, and a charged AoE.
On defeat, the boss drops the following rewards:
- Boshan Censer – Grants considerable Damage Reduction when Gourd Use is depleted.
- Thunder Tail – part of the formula for the Loongwreathe Staff.
- Loong Pearl.
Black Myth Wukong Chapter 2 Secret Sandfall Area Boss: Location & Rewards
Start from Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine and take the stairs on your right. You will see the sandfall at a distance on your left. Make your way towards the area and like in the case above, you will now have a prompt to ‘Examine’ in front of the sandfall. Enter the area behind it to unlock the Secret Boss fight with Black Loong. While it is a slow-moving boss, the one attack to watch out for is when it slams the weapons into the ground and unleashes a series of shockwaves – you need to plan your jumps at the right moment to avoid each of those.
On defeat, the boss drops the following rewards:
- Tridacna Pendant – Slightly reduces Cooldown of all Spells.
- Loong Pearl.
- Thunderbone – part of the formula for the Loongwreathe Staff.
Loongwreathe Staff In Black Myth Wukong
Once you have defeated the Woong bosses in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, you will have all the necessary equipment to craft the Loongwreathe Staff:
- 1 * Thunder Tail
- 1 * Thunderbone
- 4 * Refined Iron Sand
- 21000 Will
The Longwreathe Staff moderately increases the damage dealt by all Pillar Stances.
And with that, you have just unlocked and defeated two secret bosses and crafted a pretty neat upgrade for your Staff! Do check out our other guides that lead to such secret areas and rewards in the Buddha’s Eyeballs and Drunken Boar quest in Black Myth Wukong.
