Grenades in Borderlands 4 are something you’ll use frequently to help yourself with dispersing the crowd of enemies. Some grenades in-game, however, are of legendary status, living off of their names and making the lives of players using them better. So, if you want some great crowd-controlling grenades in-game, these five grenades in Borderlands 4 should be on your radar.
Best Borderlands 4 Legendary Grenades
In total, while Borderlands 4 features a lot of different grenades for players, five of these legendary grenades are what make them the best of the lot. They are:
1. Jelly Grenade

The first choice of ours is the Jelly Grenade, which comes with various sorts of goodies to make your fight against a horde of enemies easier. The perks of the grenade are simple – it is a self-replicating grenade, which means you throw multiple grenades at a time with only one grenade. Plus, it has reduced cooldown by 21%, and it comes with the Jelly effect, which lets the grenade bounce off any surface, even the ceiling.
Where to get: You can get a Jelly grenade from the boss SplashZone, found in the Ripetide Grotto, located at the Coastal Bonescape of Fadefields. Once you defeat the boss, you have a chance of getting this grenade as a drop. Later, you can farm this boss continuously until you get the grenade as a drop.
2. Waterfall

Waterfall causes additional explosions around the targets, damaging enemies in the vicinity and assisting with crowd control. It also fires bullets around the grenade, which sounds like a fever dream but is very much a reality with this grenade, dealing over 2000 damage. It has a maglock augment, which homes in on enemies, and overflow, which increases the grenade charge by one.
Where to get: Waterfall is dropped by the Bio-Bulkhead boss, found while finishing the One Fell Swoop main mission. The location is in the Synthetic Nave, at the Dissected Plateau of Fadefields.
3. Fuse Grenade

Fuse Grenade is one of the preferred legendary grenades in Borderlands 4 that many players are adding to their build. The reason for it is very valid, and frankly, it makes it one of the best legendary weapons in-game. Fuse Grenade can ricochet, bouncing off enemies and ricocheting into other enemies. Fuse also comes with an increased 21% grenade damage and 150% cryo damage.
Where to get: Fuse drops from the “Driller Hole” boss, located at the Queen’s Cradle, in Tonnage Peel of Carcadia Burn. Like the previous encounters, if you don’t get it immediately from Driller Hole, you’ll have to grind this particular boss until you get the grenade as a legendary drop.
4. Swarm Grenade

The legendary Swarm Grenade erupts into swarms of projectiles and homes in on any enemy available in the general vicinity. This is great for airborne enemies, since it homes in on any enemy in the area. So, it can make the Rippa Roadbirds fight easier, which drops its own set of legendary grenades and weapons after you defeat the bosses.
Where to get: You can get the Swarm grenades from Sidney Pointylegs after you defeat the boss at “The Prospects” ripper drill site at the Hungering Plain of Fadefields.
5. Blockbuster

Blockbuster grenade in Borderlands 4 is quite a buster, where from one throw, you can get multiple splits of grenades while bouncing around. This is great for crowd control and taking out mobs of enemies repeatedly. Outside of that, you can get caught in the blast, so be careful while throwing the grenade. The grenade also has different modifiers, depending on which one you get from a drop.
Where to get: To get the Blockbuster, you’ll have to go and defeat Vile Lictor at the Umbral Foundry, located at the Windspear of Terminus range. You will have to finish the Got You Covered mission to get a chance of getting Blockbuster as a drop. If you don’t get it, you can farm this boss until you get the grenade as a drop.
