Filling up your shrine with God Totems can help you get some passive buffs in Avowed. Each region offers several totem fragments to find, and once you do that you can head inside your party camp to place them all and collect your buffs. Since these items are considered rare collectibles, you might not find it in the overworld just as quickly. You can collect another set of Totem Fragments while exploring the Emerald Stair, and we will help you locate them all in Avowed.
Totem Of Defiance Quest Guide
Head over to the Farmer’s Market once you reach Emerald Stair and talk to Lluisa Melcer. Purchase the Fragments of the Offering scroll from her for 500 Skeyt to start the Totem of Defiance side quest, and all totem fragments will be marked on the map.
You don’t need to purchase the Fragments of Offering if you don’t want to, and you can still trigger the side quest when you pick up your first totem. You also get an option to view totems in the overworld by heading into your UI Settings and turning on the Compass – God Shrine Totem Pieces option.

Totem Of Defiance (base)
Next, you also require the totem base to place all the totems, and you can collect the Schemer’s Offering base at the top of Shrine to Skaen in The Delemgan Glade.
Sacrificial Dagger Location
This totem fragment is located at the Abandoned Farms. Explore all the houses around here to find the fragment pinned to one of them.
Idol of Secret Hatred Location
For this fragment, make your way to Naku Tedek Grounds, cross the bridge, then head northwest towards the Ancient Grotto Beacon. Explore the cavern till you reach the end and check out the right side of the room. There is a corpse holding the Idol of Secret Hatred.
Idol of Violent Rebellion Location
From Fior Mes Iverno, make your way east past Truffle Farm to reach the Ranger Headquarters. Climb to the very top of the HQ to collect the Idol of Violent Rebellion.
Idol of Covert Plots Location
From Fior Mes Iverno, this time heads northwest towards Grim Wetlands. Just north of Sunken Village is a house that is locked from all sides and a corpse in front of it that you can loot to get some Skeyt. The Idol of Covert Plots is located inside this house, and to get inside it you need to head up the stairs and turn left.
At the very end of the passage is a statue covered in Hunts Hair. Collect the item, then interact with the switch on the statue’s lantern to unlock the side door of the house. Head inside to find the totem fragment on the table.
Obsidian Prayer Beads Location
The Obsidian Prayer Beads is found west of The Delemgan Glade. From the beacon, keep heading west till you reach a clearing with a wooden hut. Head to the right side of the hut and climb up the platform on your right.
Continue down the path till you reach an area with a fallen branch that you can climb up on to get to the upper platform. From there, turn left and continue down the path till you can jump across to the roof of the hut, where the Obsidian Prayer Beads are.
Effigy Necklace
You can collect this fragment as part of the Ancient Soil quest, and you can find the Effigy Necklace in Naku Tedek Grounds, inside the Naku Tedek cavern. Head inside the cavern and make your way to the lower levels. You will come across an area where you need to unlock the door using the essence generators. Go past the newly unlocked doors and freeze the water ahead. Walk across and get up the stairs to find the Effigy Necklace on the table.
Skaen Totem Fragments Reward
Head over to your party base and assemble all the collected Totem Fragments on your totem base. You will receive the following passives once you have collected and placed them all.
- Furious Frenzy: Casts a Flurry of Blows when Second Wind is active.
- The Slave’s Patience: +2 Dexterity and Constitution.
- Hidden Hatred: +25% damage increase against unaware enemies.
- Kill the Master: Damage increase against Skull enemies.
- Bitter Thoughts: Each critical hit can help deal high levels of Poison Accumulation.
- A Vengeful Victim: Attacking after taking damage will increase damage output by +20% of the damage received if the attack is dealt within the next 10 seconds. Stacks with Retribution.
