With the new winter update now available, many Arc Raiders players are preparing to face new dangers. With so many battles ahead, there is one thing that cannot be overlooked, besides healing-focused items: ammunition. However, keeping a solid stock can be challenging, both for newcomers and for more experienced players.
To make things easier, we prepared a complete guide to help you restock your ammo and ensure longer fights, not only against other players but also against the massive Arcs.

Firstly, it is important to understand that there are several ways to obtain ammunition in the game. You can buy it directly from Tian Wen or use the Workbench to craft your own bullets without spending money. In this case, however, you will need to find specific items.
The ideal approach is to focus on areas that contain Weapon Cases, Ammo Cases, and the well-known Raider Caches, which usually provide a large amount of ammunition. Now, let’s move on to what really matters.
Different Ways to Farm Ammo in Arc Raiders
For new players, ammo is a resource that can run out very quickly, and once that happens, restocking it can be a bit of a hassle. That said, Arc Raiders offers several ways to get ammo, whether through crafting, buying from merchants, or simply exploring the map. Because of that, it’s important to understand which method works best for your current level and stage of the game.
Take Advantage of the Free Loadout and Extract Early

If you’re just starting out and are completely “broke” when it comes to ammo, choosing the Free Loadout is an excellent option. With it, you begin a match with a random weapon, enough ammo for a few fights against Arcs or other players, healing items, and some basic equipment.
From there, you can hunt for ammo in several ways: defeating Arcs, winning PvP encounters, or simply exploring different areas of the available maps. The Free Loadout also helps you play more calmly, since the fear of dying and losing valuable gear is much lower.
Because of that, if your main goal is to stockpile ammo, it’s best to plan for a quick extraction as soon as you’ve gathered a decent amount. It’s important to remember that the Free Loadout does not include a Secure Pocket. In other words, you can’t take too many risks, since you can lose everything you collected, except for the starting weapon and shield.
By extracting early, you return to the base, store your ammo, and can safely head out on a new run. This is, without a doubt, one of the safest and most relaxed ways to farm ammo in the world of Arc Raiders.
Craft Your Own Ammo

In Arc Raiders, you need Blueprints to craft many things, such as weapons, attachments, and equipment. When it comes to basic ammo, however, this isn’t an issue. By default, you can craft Light, Medium, Heavy, and Shotgun Ammo directly at the Workbench from the start of the game, without needing any Blueprint.
These ammo types are crafted using Metal Parts and Chemicals, two resources that are found in large quantities during matches. On top of that, they can also be obtained almost automatically with the help of Scrappy, the well-known chicken that collects items found around the map. If you want to further boost your stock, investing in this is definitely worth it.
To craft ammo, you need 3 Metal Parts and 2 Chemicals. This cost applies to all basic ammo types, but the output varies. With those resources, you can craft 25 light, 20 medium, 10 heavy, or 5 shotgun rounds.

Launcher Ammo, on the other hand, requires 1 ARC Motion Core and 2 Crude Explosives, while Energy Clips also require a Blueprint to be crafted. Fortunately, as mentioned earlier, the main ammo types are easy to produce, making crafting the most stable and reliable way to keep your weapons ready at all times.
Simply Buy Your Ammo

If you urgently need more ammo for your weapons, buying it is an excellent option. Without having to rely on Blueprints or gather the resources required for crafting, you can simply… buy it. Even early on in Arc Raiders, earning money isn’t particularly difficult, which makes this a very practical solution.
Because of that, you can turn to Tian Wen to purchase all types of ammo, as well as weapons and attachments, making this one of the most straightforward ways to stay fully stocked.
Defeat Other Players and Arcs Along the Way

As mentioned before, the Free Loadout can also be used to take on not only Arcs, but other players across the map. For those who enjoy this kind of experience, Arc Raiders is extremely fun in PvP, especially thanks to its proximity voice chat.
Winning a fight can reward you with a solid amount of ammo, along with valuable items and even new weapons. Of course, this method comes with higher risk and isn’t always profitable, since everything depends on the outcome of the encounter.
Still, being completely honest, this is my favorite way to farm ammo. Even though it’s not the safest option, fighting other players in Arc Raiders remains one of the most entertaining experiences the game has to offer.
The best loot locations to explore in Arc Raiders
Arc Raiders features several points of interest where players can find valuable items, including ammunition. Below are the main locations to secure different ammo types.
Dam Battleground

Among the most interesting locations, the Control Tower stands out on the Dam Battleground map. At the top of the tower, players can find different types of ammunition, especially medium, heavy, and shotgun rounds. There are also items and ammo at the lower levels, but the best loot is usually at the top.
It is worth noting that the Control Tower is one of the most contested and high-risk locations in the game. If you enter a match that has already been running for a few minutes, extra caution is recommended when approaching this area.
Hydroponic Dome Complex
Another strong option for collecting ammunition in Dam Battleground is the Hydroponic Dome. Players can head to the center of the complex and to the Seed Vault to find not only multiple Ammo Cases but also items focused on character healing.
Power Generation Complex
This is another valuable location, since, like the Hydroponic Dome, it can yield a large amount of ammunition along with several crafting-related items, making it easier to produce bullets throughout the game.
Buried City

In Buried City, one of the community’s favorite maps, there are several spots that greatly help when searching for ammunition.
Grandioso Apartments
In this area, players can find ammo scattered across lockers and other parts of the environment. It is also possible to locate Raider Caches, which provide a solid amount of ammunition and can significantly boost your reserves.
Marano Station
Marano Station is one of the most popular locations in Buried City for finding not only ammunition but also explosive items, which can be useful in different types of encounters.
Harvester

The Harvester dynamic event usually takes place in Dam Battleground or at the Spaceport, which is also an excellent location for collecting ammunition and other essential items. Although it is more complex than usual and does not occur at a fixed spot on the map, players can obtain packs of Energy Clips and explosive ammo for the Hullcracker.
