Some quests require prerequisites before you can unlock and add them to your quest log. The Batya quest is a bit tricky to unlock, but once you do, the rest of the quest is a piece of cake. This guide will explain how to unlock and complete the Batya quest in Escape from Tarkov.
How to Find Traces of the BEAR Special Forces Unit
This quest objective will ask you to check out BEAR Outposts to start the quest. There are a few locations to check out.

In Customs map, head over to the second floor of the Stronghold and either investigate the supply crate or the launcher to trigger the quest.

The Dome building in Reserve can also trigger the quest if you make it to the top of the white sphere.

Visit the USEC camp in Woods and head up the rocks where the weapon spawn point is, next to a small campsite.

Head over to Shoreline and visit the bunker right behind the Admin Resort. You will spot a tank near the bunker too. Stand at the entrance of the bunker to trigger the quest.
Bogatyr Patch Location

Whichever location you visit to trigger the quest, you can’t continue till you find the Bogatyr Patch. The Bogatyr Patch is located within the Customs map. Head west towards the gas station and travel south towards the Powerline Tower POI. Inside the Scav camp is a trailer. Get inside and investigate the couch. Under the couch pillow is the Bogatyr Patch.
There is another patch to find on a corpse in Woods. If you had found the convoy from the Search mission, head over there and investigate the corpse to get a patch. Once you have the patch, load into your Task inventory to find it. Double-click on the Patch to get your quest objectives.
Batya Outpost Locations Escape from Tarkov
Now that you have the quest unlocked, speak to Jaeger and choose the option to ask him about the Bogatyr Patch. He will tell you the next quest objective, where you need to find three outposts and investigate them to get the quest items. We have listed the outpost locations below to find the required items.
Ryabina Outpost Location

The Ryabina Outpost is located right at the center of the Woods map, beside the sawmill and the SUV extract point. Pass the SUV and climb up the hill till you find some loot boxes next to a tree and some sandbags. Investigate the loot to get the hostage report quest item, as well as some Dog Tags and a tape recorder. If you don’t find the loot boxes here, keep exploring the outpost till you do.
Gnezdo Outpost Location

Head over to the Power Plant in the Interchange map and go behind the Idea and Power Plant. Follow along the grassy hill and keep going up the hill. Eventually, you will spot a large green tent behind some boulders. There are several quest items to collect inside and outside the tent, which we will list below.

Enter the tent and interact with the pillow on the bed to get a quest item.

Beside the bed, pick up the cassette tape on the table.

You will also find a defib spawn on one of the shelves and a LEDX inside a metal tin on the shelf.

Walk to the entrance of the tent and investigate the blue chair to find a quest item.

Walk outside the tent and keep to the left to find a guitar, pick up the documents under it.

Next to the guitar is a sleeping bag with a map.

In front of the tent are green boxes with green tarp covering it that has a quest item on it.

Walk to the other side of the barrier outside the tent and investigate the table and the blue armchair.
Before leaving the map, take a look at all the items in your inventory and select each one to read or listen to them.
Carousel Outpost Location

Luckily, the Carousel Outpost is also located within the Interchange map, inside Idea. Make your way up the escalator once you are inside the store. Turn around once you reach the top to face the food court on your right. Go behind the blockades towards the kitchen to find a sleeping bag. Investigate the bag to find a note on Taran. Also, to the right of the sleeping bags, investigate the table to get a voice recorder and a tape.

After exploring the food court, head back to the area above the escalator and go up the large stairs this time. Walk around the barricades and make your way to the right side to find a cart and a sleeping bag beside it.

Investigate them to find the quest items, then make your way to the back left corner and investigate the armchair to find another quest item. You will also find a note on the desk beside the armchair. Extract with all your quest items and listen to the recordings to complete the Voevoda’s Belongings objective.
Learn About Bogatyr’s Squad Activities

This objective only works if you have Intelligence Center Level 3, which only unlocks at late game. Load into the Woods map and head towards Jaeger’s Camp. Between the Eastern Rocks and ZB-16 extract points, explore the woods uphill to find a dead soldier slumped against a tree. Investigate the corpse to find a quest item, and also investigate the grave beside the corpse to find more items.

Don’t forget to pick up a note hidden beneath the rock with a metal stake near the foot of the grave, and also check the duffle bag to get a mobile phone. Read all your quest notes in your inventory, then start working on crafting the tapes collected. If you have a level 1 Workbench, craft two of the tapes to make it Part 1 and Part 2.
This will require the Moreman’s phone and some extra materials to craft, and will take 12 hours for the upgrade to be done. If you are out of power, hit the cancel button to restart the process. While you will retrieve the phone, you won’t get the remaining crafting items, so you need to get them again. Once done, listen to the tapes by going to the Handbook, or press M during a raid to play the last tape you own.
