About Weapon Mods

The trigger points for each mod listed above are going to be different. Some of them get triggered on Critical Hits, Charged Attacks, or on holding the button active in the mod.
- Critical Hit Trigger: Lightning, Flame, Venom, Spark, Slit, Avalanche, Fling
- Charged Attack Trigger: Acid and Frost that includes Freeze
- Holding Charge Trigger: Ice, Laceration, Voltage, and Blaze.
The Reinforcement type of mod affects the durability, and the Empowerment type adds a boost to passive damage. Remember that you can only use the weapon mods on Melee weapons that range from Common to Legendary variety; the mods are not applicable to guns.
Mod Choices for Weapons

Different weapons will need to make use of different mods to make them work. It’s all about the perfect pairing to bring the most damage.
- Heavy Weapon: Any Blast or Lightning mod will be perfect for Heavy ones.
- Fast Weapons: Go with anything Toxic or Bleeds to create a stacking effect for the weapons.
Stacking Mods Effect
You should also pay attention to stacking when using the Tips and Shaft mod for the weapon. If the mods share the same damage type, then they will stack. A Fire Tip mod will stack with a Fire Shaft mod, leading to more elemental damage in the game.
You are welcome to experiment with the Weapon Mods, your own way to customize the gameplay to your liking in Dying Light: The Beast. Or, you could go with the best Legendary Weapons in the game, without worrying about mods and stacking effects.
